Guest guest
After just speaking with about the show today I think it is very important anyone suffering from any form or type of chronic illness, I highly recommend they listen to the show today. This will be in the archives of her site if you are unable to listen today, but only for the next 2 weeks. If searching CarTalk out of Boston will be on just before her, so you will know you are on the right station. If you miss it today we will post the link to the show so you can catch it at your leisure. Guest guest
I think its very true that music is *incredibly* healing for people with SBS. I used to be very much an active enjoyer of music but as I got sick my motivational energy to seek out and play music as well as my ability to listen to music seemed to disappear and change and I withdrew socially and I stopped listening to it. I think chronic tinittus had a lot to do with this. (sounds hurt to lsiten to when my ears were ringing) I still have not been able to rejuvenate my music listening but I at least now enjoy music when I am feeling better and I hope to start listening to it again when I have more energy. It clearly does have a healing effect on SBS because it exercises the brain. Especially playing music or dancing in any way, I would expect to be able to help a LOT, if you can manage it. Try to force yourself to listen to music, even if its hard. (when I was really sick, it literally made my head hurt.)
