Guest guest
Dear Group, Yesterday I had my first office visit with a " new to me " neurologist (dumped the first one; we were not a good match). I felt the need to find one an hour's drive away, rather than depending only upon my nsg at the Mayo Clinic (9 hours away). This neurologist appeared knowledgeable about Chiari, but I'd like to be sure. When I asked him if he had any other Chiari patients, he replied that he didn't. He then went on to say that he'd been working with a woman with syringemyelia (wrong spelling), but that she didn't have ACM. She apparently was dissatisfied and ended up this winter/spring seeing Dr. Milhorat. My question - would this patient happen to be on this list? I'd sure like to be in contact with her. The neurologist is Kristl, located in South Bend, IN. If this description sounds like you, please send me an e-mail. Thanks a bunch! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: /group/chiari - Simplifying group communications
Guest guest
: I am not that person. However, I do have a question for you. Isn't it a neurosurgeon that you should be seeing, not a neurologist? Guest guest
What's the difference? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: /group/chiari - Simplifying group communications
Guest guest
: I'm not sure of all of the differences. I know the following for sure: Neurosurgeons can diagnose, and they can operate. However, if they diagnose epilepsy they turn you over to a neurologist for the continuing care. I do not know if neurologists are able to operate. I think neurologists do more hands on care.
