Guest guest
You can get some pictures on www.mold-help.org (go down the left side of the home page and click on " Mold Types and Images " . I assume most of the experts here would tell you that you need to send your samples to a lab to be tested so you can know for sure what you are dealing with. [] seeking advice on new rental home I have severe chemical sensitivity since living in a toxic mold rental years ago. For five years, I was doing much better living in a safe condo, after purging all my belongings and detoxing. My husband and I got pregnant, though, and wanted to find a larger space with clean mountain air. We just spent a month moving into a rental home in the mountains - which I thought I did ok in. The weather was nicer then, and at that point, the crawl space was dry (it has a wet area now.) Unfortunately, after only a week, I have hives/relentless itching and left sinus/trigeminal nerve irritation. Although I don't seem to have headaches and brain fog, I knew from experience this could be mold, and there were no other obvious sources. So I ran mold plates... The first mold plate to show spores is the living room/kitchen (it's one open space) -- there are three white fuzzy spores. I believe it might be penicillium, which I know I'm allergic to, and would explain the hives. If anyone knows a good site online with pics, that would help me identify it. Knowing I'm so sensitive - do I have to move NOW or is there a way to resolve this? I have no idea where the source is - we SCRUBBED this place. It could be from the crawl space (waiting for that plate to be tested). And is all my stuff now contaminated, as it was when I lived in the toxic rental years ago? This is a nightmare as we've gone through so much over the years with my MCS and mold problems. Any help much appreciated. Guest guest
Jill, If Kc approves of this going through on his board, I would also like to invite you to also take a look at my Mold Image Library, which shows molds on various parts of the home. I am just giving you my link as another avenue for pictures because I feel " SickBuildings " here is a fantastic group with support for a tremendous amount of information and help.
