Unfortunately, Dr. Ordog is one of the doctors who was attacked by the insurance

industry. He lost his license for 3 months and will be on probation for a few

years. Dr. Ordog is a very compassionate and knowledgeable physician, so it was

a big loss when the insurance industry hurt his career. On a related note, I am

really glad that Dr. Rea (in Texas) is fighting this same type of attack.

perfect, but I don't have that option. Two people were recommended (Dr.

Madill,

Sebastopol, CA and Dr. Gray, Benton, AZ) to me by Dr. M's office but

it's not ideal.

Dr. Ordog in Santa Clarita, CA was recommended on the mold expert list, but Dr.

M's office

hasn't heard good things. Dr. Gray is so far away. Dr. Madill might work, but

he's not open

Fridays (I really can't be there when he's there M-R if I can avoid it) and I'm

trying to avoid the

commute to SF. Does anyone know someone in the LA area who would be good to

write a

note for me and/or see? Also, I'm curious to know if anyone's had an endoscopic

nasal

polypectomy and how everyone's dealing with their health since Dr. M passed....I

would love

to chat with someone sometime....I feel kinda alone...

Hi le,

When I lived in the LA area I went to Dr. Gunnar Heuser in Agoura

Hills, north of LA. He is a neurotoxicologist who knows mold and

chemical exposures. I have heard that he may have moved his office to

Santa Barbara but I'm not sure. I did a SPECT scan, MRI, CTs, and

blood work with him. I was able to get teacher's state disability with

his documentation of my health compromises. His main treatment

protocol is HBOT. It felt good but was an expensive protocol to stay on.

Another member of the family saw Dr. Wempen, an environmental doctor

in Irvine. He also knows mold and chemical exposures. He is also able

to give you documentation you need after testing you I believe.

However, neither of these doctors take insurance so be prepared. Maybe

you want to call first and ask for their fees.

We all know how you feel and hope this helps.

Unfortunately, LA is one of the worst places to find a good doctor

who knows about mold or is willing to treat it or acknowledge it. I

found Dr. Susser in west LA at The Longevity Medical Center but he

has since retired. I still go there and see the doctor who has

replaced him; Dr. Green but he focuses more on prevention with

convention and natural alternative approaches and doesn't always

recommend some of the things that have been recommended on this site,

like using white vinegar for example. He suggested I don't use it on

my toe nails because it can burn the skin and recommended lotrimin.

There is an Allergist, Immunalogist, Environmental Medical doctor in

Laguna Hills, CA. but haven't had the money to go to her yet so I

don't know how good she is.

Here's the list of docotors I have found:

Dorothy Calabrese, MD

Allergy, Immunology, Environmental Medicine

24953 Paseo De Valencia

Laguna Hills, CA 92653

949-454-0509

www.enviromed.org

(they charge about $300 per visit, not including tests and treatments

but the visit lasts up to four hours)

Dr. Kaye Kilburn

P.O. Box 5374

Pasadena, CA. 91117

626-798-4299

www.neuro-test.com

(focuses on mold and the brain; tests cost $1575 and lasts about 5

hours)

book: Mold and Mycotoxins; $40.00

Dr. Green, MD*

Longevity Medical Center

2211 Corinth Ave. Suite 204

Los Angeles, CA. 90064

310-966-9194

Integrating traditional medicine with natural healing

(not specific to mold exposure; but has some understanding)

*not my original docotor but still good

Hope this helps

Here is what was posted on the board: You can start with 54712 and

read the rest of the replys. There is also one from his daughter.

To All Members,

I didn't want to have to do this until the family approved, but..

Today is a very sad day in the mold community. Many of you have

either seen Dr.Marinkovich or have heard of him. He fought long and

hard to help his patients and others who are dealing with this

condition. Many times the insurance companies tried to shut him down

and each time he prevailed.

Unfortunately, he has lost one of his hardest battles. He had been

sick for some time now and out of respect for the family we abided

by their wishes, honoring their request, concerning his illness and

passing not be made public at that time. Unfortunately, others have

felt the need to make this public against the family's request.

On September 17, 2007 Dr. Marinkovich succumbed to his illness.

He will be deeply missed by one and all. You fought long and hard

for the mold community and rest assured your work and effects will

continue.

We have lost a great, compassionate and understanding doctor and

human being. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of

Dr.Marinkovich.

le,

Have you looked in Phoenix? Phoenix is a less difficult 'commute' (as you

put it) from LA than many other places because its an air hub and the

flights to there from LAX are frequent and cheaper than many other places.

Phoenix, not Tucson, not any of the other southwestern cities.. Phoenix

only. You'll see what I mean when you look at the flights. Everything goes

through Phoenix.

At one point (years ago) you could fly from LA to Phoenix for something like

$59-$69 (I'm sure its much higher now, but still)

That is probably a better bet for you than the SF Bay Area.

Good luck!
