Prime job of my last company was to

produce/broadcast

commercials/advertisements.

As I understood, " advertisements " and

" product placements " many times worked

by " attacking " viewers at an

emotional/psychological level. As you

see a 60 " plasma TV and automatically

feel you " should " have it. As you see a

Porshe with its top down and feel you

" should " have it or as you see $250

dollar lingerie that you feel you

" should " buy or maybe, a $50,000

necklace that you think you " could "

have bought for your girlfriend only if

you were " rich " !

And, I noticed that these commercials,

these product placements worked best -

when the audience [myself included] is

'not prepared'. It works best when you

don't know what you " really " want!

I noticed that when I enter many

shopping complexes or even business

complexes or just when watch or hear

numerous commercials on TV or radio -

their " input " can often " overwhelm " me!

And, the " feeling " that they might

create is that of " lack " - that I

" lack " something, I " need " * something,

I am " incomplete " as I exist and I need

something to complete me. And, if that

felt " need " then combined with the

feeling of lack or resources [money] to

get what I feel I " need " - it creates

what I recognizes as " suffering " !

*As our executive had taught us this

was one of the main job of product

advertisements and the advertisements

that did so was considered successful!
