Guest guest
Hello Everyone, We are four years out from our mold exposure and as the " dust " settles, (if that is even completly possible) we now know what we are left with in terms of health effect. Beside the obvilous..we can't be around mold..very hypersensitive and have developed asthma and new allergies what's really created choas in our lives is the brain damage. We are blessed to be working with a doctor (not very known in the mold community) but who has been studying the brain and the effects of neurotoxins on the brain for the past 30 years. You will be suprised but when you go outside of the mold community into the neurosciene field, there is no one arguing that neurotoxins can alter you brains (they alter the DNA make of your brain) and cause irreversible damage. They call this Traumactic Brain Injury. (Note: you do not have to had a blow to your head to have traumatic brain injury. One of the biggest onefor us is damage to the Executive function part of the brain. If you take the time to reseach what the excecutive funtion part of the brain does many of you will be shock that you have a deficiet. Nueropsych testing was the beginning to us figureing this out but when all of us got PET scans done at UC Irvine Brain Imaging Center and all of us had abnormal scans showing signs of brain damage. For us that is when it hit home. This is very real. Take the time to research this. Look up Traumatic Brain Injury or aquired Brain injury, you will be suprised to find that you are most likely suffering from many of the symptoms. I would be more than happy to answer questions about this. We are having to go away from the mold community and enter into the TBI (traumactic brain injury) community to find answers and solutions on how to help our family cope. There is no easy answer but there is hope that new neurons can be created and change can occur. Just expect a new normal because the damage is permanant, it is not irreversable. that's all for now. I tire easy trying to put my thoughts to paper:) With much appreciation for all the help this group has done for us, we hope to give back
