Guest guest
Dr. W. was one of the authors (with Dr Thrasher and two others) of a very readable paper on molds and mycotoxins in Dr. Straus's book " Sick Building Syndrome " the paper is entitled " Mold and Mycotoxins: Effects on the Neurological and Immune Systems in Humans "
Guest guest
, Thanks so much for giving us an update on your son and how your story has progressed. What can I really say, for except this is absolutely awesome that your son is doing so well. This is so pleasant to hear and a bit overwhelming that he is moving in the right direction. This gives the rest of us some hope that there are possibilities in recovering from these horrendous effects caused by mold exposure in water damaged buildings. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, your family and everyone else that were unnecessarily exposed in that school and the authorities that neglected to take action. We are the guinea pigs, sorry to say, that can confirm the effects of mold and mycotoxins and all the research that has been presented to us over the years. This all could have been prevented for many of us simply by education and prevention. I believe it's long overdue for Judy Gerberding from the CDC to stand on her podium to inform the general public many of the conditions and effects that mold exposure could/can and will cause. We know we definately can't depend on the ACOEM, which has been made obvious by some of their cronies. He no longer goes to that school. We took him out of that unhealthy building. He is now going to a high school for his Senior year 25 miles from our home that is a clean and healthy environment. (Thank you Dr. !) > Between the many many prayers, medical treatment and change of school environment, my son is doing well. (You can see we have an excellent team of experts on our side, Dr. Lipsey and Dr. .) His health has improved; his white blood cells are climbing towards normal. He says he feels better now than he has in three years. He just finished IV treatment of Cancidas that he had daily since June 18. He had this IV therapy for four months to kill the aspergillus and Penicillium. Yes, he still has battles to fight regarding his health and will for the rest of his life but for now he is feeling stronger. In his words...he's feeling " awesome " . > I have hired excellent lawyers (searched for a lawyer for 1.5 years) and I am in the middle of a legal battle with the school district where my son was horribly infected with mold. The school is Westview high school in , TN. You can google 'Mold at Westview high school TN' and you will find all kinds of articles regarding this legal battle. Not only did I have to fight for my son's life with 'unbelieving', uncaring doctors for more than a year, but now I'm fighting the school system for the children and teachers left behind in that building. The teachers have begged the district for more than 9 years to make their school a safe environment. Nobody listened. We don't have a lot of money, but I was willing to do whatever it took to save my son's life! > Thanks to KC (tigerpaw), and this web site, I continue to read good advice and help. And, thanks to prayers, Dr. , and a change of environment for my son, he is improving daily. If my son would have died because of this mold, I too would have died from a broken heart! > I am giving you Dr. 's website and phone in case you are interested in contacting him. I pray for everyone who contacts '' website for I know what you are going through. > Dr. 's website: www.immunotoxicology.com > Ph: 281-681-8989 > NEVER GIVE UP!!! > > > > --------------------------------- > Be a better sports nut! Guest guest
Your experience with Dr. is unfortunate, but it does not speak for everyone. We have had a extremely positive experience with Dr. . Our son was just about wheelchair bound, MCS so extreme he could barely tolerate breathing. He was just 10 yrs old with a very bleak future according to " experts " at 4 major Chicago University hospitals. We found Dr. and he started treatment immediately. He did have to undergo 4 yrs of IVIG & anti fungals - but he is 90% better - thanks to Dr. . He was loaded with molds & mycotoxins from a 6 yr exposure - that's why he needed antifungals! As those levels went down, his body slowly healed. My husband & I are on the same now and we are slowly improving. There are so few doctors that will listen to or treat people with these exposures. They could easily have stayed with everyday medicine - and have an easy life treating people in accordance with mainstream medicine. But they have all stuck their necks out to help us. They may not all agree on doing things the same, they have their own ideas & their own research. Dr. has authored several papers on how mold affects human health. Dr. Rhea does things differently and has done research also, but on a different path. Dr. Shoemaker looks at it another way, as does Dr. Gray, Dr. Hooper, Dr. Croft, - all extremely intelligent and have their own ideas on how to approach the problems of mold & human health - & I applaud them all for having the courage of their convictions. They have been hounded by the establishment but keep on going. We have so few choices in this field, I think that dr bashing is out of line. Your experience is completely different from others. These guys get beat up enough without getting it from us. I commend all of them for their courage. You need to take responsibility as a patient to check out costs before you go to a dr. I've always done that- even before we were sick. Then, check with ins to see how much is covered. Some drs with work with patients on costs, if you take the time to ask. Call them to see how they approach treatment or ask around. There are enough people out there trying to discredit ALL of these drs, they don't need it from us. I see that you said that Dr. is " board Certified " ....he is just a family practice physician. He does not have a specialty in toxicology, nor is he certified in Environmental Medicine. I went to him and was very unhappy with his treatment. He did not do any of the stuff the other EI MD's did to treat. He charged over $10K for running a bunch of labs that were useless and did not use to treat anything from the labs. Along with a whole host of other unprofessional behavior. I would most definitely not recommend this MD unless you just want to throw a bunch of money at him. > > > > > > > > Dear KC and 'Sickbuildings " Members: > > > > > > My 15 year old son became very very sick from his high > > school.
