Guest guest
, thanks for asking. Mom is doing well under the circumstqances. Sheks pretty much breathing on her own and her blood work is good. But, she now has a staff infection which is being treated. She will be tested tomorrow to see how well she can tolerate swallowing different things. Will post then. Re: Norma's Mom - Status? Guest guest
they did the swallow test on my dad after his stroke. medicare would only pay for one a month, or dad's insurance, one. what i am trying to say is-dad would have been stuck on thicken liquids for a longer time just because of insurance. I don't know how expensive the test is, but if it not that expensive, you may want tests more often and pay for yourself if you feel it is needed. I just want everybody to know that insurance sometimes(usually) drives the care, rather than logic. I was a naive caregiver while my dad was in the hospital. i would have purchased a laptop and wireless connection had I known so much help was out there.
