I actually am 29 and I'm turning the big 30 this year in September. I'm so

excited I've been looking forward to my 30th birthday since I was 25. Can't

wait for the big party.

And yes 30 is definitely the new 20.

Good for you . Tomorrow is my birthday and I will be 52. I am also

told I don't look it (thank you Oil of Olay), but then again I may just have

very good, lying friends. lol. Either way, I am proud of my age and all that I

have been able to accomplish so far. Anyway, age is about attitude not numbers

and I wouldn't go back. So all you young women out there, and that is most of

you compared to me, take that giant step forward and know that wonderful things

wait for you at every age.

Ladies, I'll tell you the same thing I told my mom several years ago when she

tried to torture me about turning 30. Turning 30 (or 40 or 50 or whatever) is

MUCH BETTER than the alternative -- which is to die before you get there! :-)

I have to say I love being forty something!! It is better than your 20 or

30 something! I am not on hold it is only a number and having four kids

five with the husband it keeps me young. And I still manage to work out 3

times a week that is my sanity!

Thank you and everyone for the birthday wishes. I was actually late -

due at the end of December. Must be a thing in my family. My oldest daughter

was due on December 26 and was born on January 16. I was living in modern

California at the time and my doctor didn't believe in inducing labor. The baby

will come when ready - his motto.

Donna- You share a birthday with my mom! Today is her birthday too!

In my son's school newsletter, his teacher included a very good quote that I

think is very fitting for this " age " topic.

" I've learned that age is important only in cheese. " -Author's age---76

I think that is a good way to think about us growing older! Besides, I have

earned every gray hair and every fine line! I would not go back to my 20's or

even my 30's because at 42 I am much wiser than I was even at 41! I may not have

the strength or the stamina that I did one or two decades ago, but that has been

replaced with wisdom, thus making me much stronger!
