My alt doc in WF bought an Easy Water system for her house -- they have to come

out and install it, I think it's about 2-4k. But ALL your water is filtered, so

you are not bathing in it, absorbing the toxic halides (fluoride, chlorine)

through your skin, either. If I had the $, that's the one I would buy.

Is reverse osmosis the one where you use salt? some use charcoal, but don't get

all the harmful cysts. some use combinations. You want one that gets

everything!

thought I'd tell you what the doctor purchased. Vicki K

The reverse Osmosis filters don't use salt or charcoal. Reverse osmosis is what

is used to remove salt from sea water. The system uses a membrane (with

filters) and pressure to remove the toxins from the water.

For showering and bathing, you can buy filters to put on the faucet and shower

head. Those are not too expensive.

I hadn't looked at the whole house systems recently, but they have come down in

cost. Here's one on Amazon for under $1000:

Although, you really want the version with the filters, so that gets the price

to over $1200.

You do need a plumber to install it (and my guess is that most city codes would

require that a licensed plumber install it even if you have a handy man/woman at

home), so that would definitely add to the cost.
