Guest guest Posted March 18, 2012 Report Share Posted March 18, 2012 hi. My journey to find answers started a few years ago. I'm 47 yo F. it started with 10 cases of strep in 8 months. I then had my tonsils out. i seemed to be better, but since then i am still getting strep about once every 3 months. I have been to a reg dr, ENT and immunologist. None seem to know what to do anymore. In the meantime i had some blood tests done that show i am getting Hashimotos. my peroxidose is high but my t3 and t4 are normal. So they won't treat me. I am now realizing a lot of symptoms i have had are probably due to the thyroid: can't lose weight, forgetful, easily agitated, swollen fingers. I would appreciate any advice and would like to know if anyone thinks the strep and hashis could be related. I don't know what to do and am starting to get depressed going thru this so often.
