Guest guest
I, too, have less hair everywhere but on my head. For instance, I only have about a dozen hairs on each ankle - the rest of my leg hair is very fine and blond. The hair on my head used to curl easily and now won't hold a curl at all. It does wave if cut correctly. I was attributing that to the fact that it's about 50% grey. I am only on Armour and some estrogen. Guest guest
OMG I've always had horrible hair growth. I shave daily.. there's no way around it. I can't even wait for a mid-day shower, it has to be first thing in the morning because my hair is thick and prickly.. Underarms, too.. I am on a dessicated thyroid product. Is this a hypo sign? Guest guest
Martha, Thanks for the feed back. i am about to leave to go get blood work done. i am wondering if my progesterone and estrogen is making it worse? i am not sure if this is true but i have read that taking estrogen and progesterone can make hair fall out. it seems my hair was better before i found out that i have thyroid problem, but it was very dry like straw. last summer my hair seem to be dry but it keep curl and look better then now. the Dr lowered my med because she thinks i was getting hyper because i had some sakeie hands, but i sure felt better and look better other wise . i remember the first time i took thyroid med and my hair seem to go back to normal but did see a little oily in the hair line. wondering if others that are taking pig glad and syntactic togather sre having this probelm also? Thanks again. I try to tell my self i least i have some hair but you know how that goes. Thanks. Guest guest
I don't have much hair on my body, except my head which is thick and healthy, if I am on correct dose. That dose is 88m synthroid and 12.5m cytomel and have been at this level for about 6 Yeats. I noticed the lack of hair about 4 Yeats ago. Previously I'd always had light and rather soft hair on my arms and legs, underarms, etc. But not sparse to non-existent as it is now. I've always wondered if this was hypothyroid related. > > I first want to say that i don't know if any one else is dealing with this i > don't see a lot of hair on my legs or under arm i use to shave 2 a week but now > it is about a whole weeks or week and a couple of days. wondering i might need > to change med . i will be doing labs again soon and will tell the Dr when the > labs come in.
