Guest guest
CDC to help investigate students' twitching WWBT - Richmond,VA* From NBC12 News http://www.nbc12.com/news/healthcast/11117661.html The Centers for Disease Control has been called in to try to figure out what's causing a group of Roanoke students to twitch. Officials at Byrd High School say fewer than ten students have reported twitching, tremors, dizziness, and headaches. So far, tests on the school and students have come up inconclusive, which is why the CDC is on scene. Meanwhile, many experts say they believe it's a condition called BFS, or Benign Fasciculation Syndrome. " That's just very big words for describing these involuntary skeletal muscle spasms or twitches, " said Dr. Ashton, a public-health expert. " What they want to look at is whether there's an environmental exposure, a toxic gas or something that these students are coming in contact with. " School remains in session, but hundreds of parents are keeping their kids home until a cause is pinpointed.
