Welcome a,

Glad you found us. We have several new members. Does your Mom take meds for BP?

I can't help much with the drugs but I am sure some people will be able to

answer that.

One of the things I know is that you have to be more careful with drugs than BP

drop. My Mom couldn't take meds at all. We talk a lot here about about when

you do drugs, do one at a time, start slow and go low. It is the best rule of

thumb.

Now saying that, I know when Mom's BP dropped, while she was at the nh, they

moved very fast to get fluid in her. Is your mom doing lots of fluids? Or is

that a problem?

Let us know more about you and where the caregiving is with your Mom.

Hugs,

Donna R

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.

Orthostatic Hypotension

Question:? Is there a medication that can help my Mom with unexplained syncope??

Her blood pressure and heart rate dropped very low for no apparent reason in the

middle of the night upon waking.

I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a

dehydration problem. Maybe make sure to bump up her fluids?
