Guest guest
Dana, Senator Kuehl is working towards continued authorship of her bill AB 840 with a single payer universal healthcare system for California. While AB 840 did not pass the 2007 legislative session she does plan to present this bill again in 2008. Of interest Kuehl has specifically excluded my profession of Acupuncturists from this bill as primary care providers. What this means is that any patient wanting to seek out acupuncture treatments will be required to first obtain permission from an MD. I support this bill I just do not support the specific exclusion of acupuncturists as primary care providers. Acupuncturists have been primary care providers for 30 years now; from about the time most states enacted acupuncture laws starting in the seventies after Nixon visited China. --- In , " gsgrl2000 " <gsgrl2000@...> wrote: > > And to add to what else is about to happen in California, the > governor is trying to get his " Universal " health plan passed which is > not actually universal health care; it's Mandatory health care which > is not the same thing but they would love for everyone to think it > is. Guest guest
I question " single payer universal healthcare system " ? What exactly would that mean? Would the state pick all cost for healthcare or would it fall on businesses, etc.? Who or what is this " single payer " ? And why exclude any medical doctors from being a PCP? I'll have to look into this bill more to know if I agree with it or not. But I do know I don't agree with Clinton's universal healthcare plan or govener Swarzenagger's (spelling?) universal healthcare plan.
