Mold from a medical procedure and subsequent SB exposure

I just realized that while doing a contract position at a fortune 500

company I was exposed to mold at the beginning of this year. I just

recently connected the dots. The first day I started there I thought

I would have to ask them to call 911 because I was so sick. After

that I developed a chest cold that lasted three weeks and then I

awoke one morning and couldn't breath and I had white spots on my

throat. Just in the past week I put two and two together and

realized the building had an ongoing mold problem. The cafeteria

which backed up to the wall of the offices would leak water. I

remember remodeling going on and fans going so I called a woman I

worked with to ask her about mold. She said that before I got there

they had moved and immediately moved other people into their old

spots without any remodeling. She said they had a company in there

that was testing the air quality but it was never shared with them.

So now I know that I am sensitive to mold and if I am ever exposed

again I may not get well.

The second time I had respiratory problems was after being diagnosed

with adrenal insufficiency after the contract position. I flew to

Hawaii and during the trip started to get sick. After I got back I

was sick as a dog. This lasted about two weeks and I had strep. I

had to triple my dose of steroids as I was very sick.

I wonder if anyone has first had exposure from a medical procedure or

in the body and then inhalation exposure. I'm interested in

understanding what happened. For those that don't know I had a

breast biopsy and a marker was left in my breast made partially from

nickel (I am highly allergic to nickel) and I developed mold in my

right breast. I would love to hear if anyone has any insights.
