Today the same quake could severely damage the area from St. Louis to Memphis. ----------------------------------------------------------- The New Madrid quake was felt on the east coast, and I have heard rang church bells as far away as Boston, if I remember correctly. Depending on the magnitude of the quake my are would be on the borderline of devastation. Projections are for a massive number of casualties as far east as the Cumberland Plateau and damage over as far east as Knoxville and Chattanooga (HI KIM). We have had small tremors here in our area in the past. Still tornadoes are a bigger threat. Been there done that and have the scars to show for it.
