Guest guest
I don't think there is any set rules, it all depends on your case. If your symptoms are progressing, it can end in total dissability. If no progress, consider yourself lucky! A good general rule is found in Darlene's study: Early diagnosis and intervention seem to do better post surgery than the more progressed cases. Before surgery my case looked very straight forward, 'classic chiari' with no complications. Doc Milhorat thought I had a good prognosis, even though my deformity was big, and he surely is knowledgeble. The unexpected was my very thin dura... now I don't do well post op, and was already back for a leak! So, I think if your deformity is big you should at least consider surgery before your dura wears out too much! The same with activity - do as much as you are comfortable with, but poleas do something... a lack of exercise is bad for anyone! My addiction to this group is costing me - we expect a guest tonight and i haven't done the dishes yet!
