I was 334 and I now weigh 249. You can see my before and after pic under photos on the GBIC site. Ava was my angel and a very sweet one. I joined GBIC about a week or two before my surgery. This is a great supportative group w/lots of info for your questions. Ask any question whether it is about wls or personal and you will always find someone on here that can offer support and advice. Can you tell us more about yourself? When your surgery was or is, etc. ? Tabitha

Guest guest
Hiya, I'm Thersea (aka: cheenaa, " T " , henlseyct,) main Theresa though. I had my surgery 7/20/01 starting weight 327 size 30/32, as of date I'm down -111 & size 18/16. I live in Illinois. Dr. Siegert @Trinity did mine. This is the best decision I have ever made! This board helped me when I didn't have a physical support group. This group has been here for me through all my ups and downs. I will forever be dedicated to this group for the love, caring, admiration, and information they have given to me. Guest guest
Hi My name is . What a great idea it was asking for all to reintroduce themselves here. I am so smart! I am having a ball reading about ya'all and it is a privilege to know you. Like I said, my name is . I live in Archbald, Pa. Near Scranton and Wilkes Barre. I am 58 years old. I had Open RNY on July 3, 2001 which makes me 7 months post op. I weighed 269 pre op and am now at 180. I am closing in on the Century Club. I am also at a plateau and have adopted some suggestions here the last week to help me break it. I remember waking up from the SX and my sisters and hubby were in my room an I looked up and said " This was a piece of cake. " Of course I was under an epidural that I had post op to help with the incision pain. I remember threatening my hubby " You make sure if I fall asleep you push this button here that gives me morphine, I might fall asleep and I can have it, I think it was every 20 minutes,(not sure now.) Well anyway I threatened his life if he forgot to push it even once while I was sleeping. Well, people dont believe this can happen but I swear it did to me. I was very very sleepy and groggy the next day. I did sleep all day. My son came in and checked me and my pulse was racing . To make a long story short, they called in my Dr. who had to do one of those leak checks, he was ready to go in again to check me out. He did end up giving me some kind of anti morphine drug. So some sage advice for post ops. " DONT LET ANYONE PUSH YOUR BUTTON. " I came home from hospital and in 2 weeks was totally dehydrated. I was about 3 hours away from my kidneys shutting down when they admitted me. I was in for 5 day getting rehydrated by IV. So gals. DRINK, DRINK AND DRINK that water when they tell you. I have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren who light up my life and my husband is the best in the world. Because of the Surgery the Dr told me I probably added 10 to 15 years on my life. I feel so good about myself I could just bust I am so happy. My sister had the SX 2 weeks after me and we have both lost 90 lbs. I am so happy to hear I have all these sisters here online.!!!! And a Mom too! in PA.

Guest guest
My turn I guess....I am annee, I live in VA and had my Lap RNY on Feb. 4th 2002. I have one son his name is Hunter and the light of my life. I am 36 years old and weighed 252 pre-op. The last I checked I was 220 but I don't make it a habit of getting on the scales. I am glad that I made this decision even though at times I have questioned myself. It is a major life style change, to one I am still adjusting. I have found true and lasting friendships from this group. My dear sweet ANGEL Theresa! I could not of made it through without her support, she always knows just what to say and seemed to call at just the right times. And the wisdom of many others such as Ava Lee and , and ....well so many hard to name them all. Well guess this is long enough...I tend to " rattle " at times....lol you will see that....hahahaha........annee > [

Guest guest
I am pretty new here, I am Romero from New Iberia Louisiana (where it is COLD here today..... ) I see my surgeon on April 8th. I am hoping for an RNY, preferrably a laproscopic. But that will be up to my doctor. I have been researching WLS for about 2 years now. It has taken my hubby over a year to get okay with the idea, now he is fully behind my decision. I have an 18 year old daughter, a 9 year old son, and a 3 year old son with Down Syndrome. (both boys are adopted) I have 7 step children, ranging in age from 26 (a daughter, who lives with us and has forever it seems), to 39. I am 40, hubby is 60. I also have 7 grandchildren (actually step-grandchildren, but I have changed more diapers than their actual granmother, and I am known to them as " Granny " ) Current weight is 350 or so.
