Guest guest
That's very easy. In the " old days " when we were taught how to know the time on a round analog clock or analog watch using Roman numerals, it was easy to know what the time was. That is how I and many others grew up at that time. As society has become increasingly " dumbed down " with no thanks to the media (the reading level of the average local newspaper is at the fifth grade, while publications like the Wall Street Journal are at a twelth grade reading level), people seem to not understand or comprehend the math behind Roman numerals and need a much simpler explaination through numbers. Maybe they just do not see a need for Roman numberals anymore. So regardless of what GRASP's view on the " 5 " and not the " V " , this is my take on it. ------ 3. Why a " 5 " and not a " V " ?
