Knowing how she writes, and even as I listed previously, how she ended

the tribute to her father.

What are people going to remember more about one of her columns even

if LBD IS mentioned - her supporters may remembers the LBD comments,

but the detractors or targets of her usual opinions are going to have

the usual negative feelings, and why would they even remember the LBD

info? or feel moved to look into it further.

Also, a lot of people totally avoid her columns until she says

something ridiculous, and is on the news for it and promoting herself

again. The everyday non-outrageous Ann Coulter columns are usually

ignored by the people she condemns and would only reach her supporters.

There must be a more inclusive person who could help bring LBD to the

attention of many without making others tune out.

Maybe Kathie Lee Gifford since her father passed away from LBD...

Maybe Weiner (author of My Brother's Keeper: A Story from

the Edge of Medicine) whose mother has LBD...

Maybe the actresses from The Golden Girls, since Estelle Getty has

LBD...

Maybe Dr. Graboys (states he is a retired 'nationally'

renowned cardiologist - but outside of MA not sure if many people

have heard about him) who has LBD...

Maybe the sons or daughters or spouses of those who passed away of

LBD:

* Mervyn Peake (accomplished British artist, poet, novelist, and

playwright)

* McAfee Brown (former Stanford professor of religious studies

and a renowned educator, author and activist)

* B. Trowbridge (former Secretary of Commerce in the Lyndon

B. administration)

* Otis Chandler (publisher of the Los Angeles Times)

* Ellison (Emmy-winning documentary producer)

* Erlenborn (former U. S. Representative from Illinois)

* Mark (Aeronautical engineer with NASA who was part of the

Apollo 11 team)

* Heilbroner (Economist and author of the best-selling

book " The Worldly Philosophers: The Lives, Times & Ideas of the Great

Economic Thinkers " )

* Dr. Herbert Schilder (Boston dental surgeon who refined the

instruments and techniques used to perform root canals and made the

procedure safer and more successful.)

* Roderick T. (photographer who won an honorary for

technological contributions)

LBDA should approach them all and request help in the cause...

Great reply - definitely people with less of a hot-button aspect to

them on that list.

Do you need help researching to try and contact them? I'd be happy to help.

I guess that's a question for LBDA... b/c what are we going to do w/

them if we find them? :) I'll pose the question to LBDA if they're

looking for a public spokesperson.

in september they were -- they were trying to get kathie lee gifford but i don't

think they've been able to get her to commit to anything.........but they were

most eager to get a spokesperson/spokespeople on board to advance awareness of

the issue. i did a wee bit of work with them on their pitch to kathie lee,

etc, etc.

hi

i have some other prominent names, too, that i'll pass along.

one thing that could be done -- and i know that as of september LBDA needed this

sort of help -- was someone could do a serach of the obituary archives and check

for lewy body for some major cities -- i've done washington, dc and new york --

but i bet doing a search of every major city would help drum up some prominent

people who have died from the diseases -- and that information could be useful

to the LBDA on several fronts.

i have cc'ed kim mitchell at lbda -- she is the staff member who handles these

sorts of issues.

(kim, let me know if you want to revisit ways to use the names of those who

might turn up and/or ways to involve surviving family members, etc.)

best,

ann
