Guest guest
Hi everyone. I go to an acupuncturist once a week and yes it helps me. I have a hip that aches and it hurts to walk or sit and for years I hated to walk because of the pain. I tried physiotherapy which costed me $475 to walk away crying. It got to the point that I thought I was paying someone for more pain than I was already in. My back hurt, I had headaches most of the time and I could not move my neck. My doctor has MS and is only councilling patients now because of her disability and she recommended this acupuncturist that she had been going to for pain. Well the first time I went I thought what am I doing here. Now its costing me $30 bucks a week for a bunch of holes in my body. But to my surprise I managed the first appointment and notice little change and I thought well I guess I will try once more and at the first I was going twice a week. The second time I went he massaged me after words and I was laying under a lamp well after 4 weeks going twice a week I could walk without hurting. I luved going there. Now I go whenever I feel alot of pain. It may cost $30 bucks every visit but I wouldn't trade him for the world. The way I look at it is I have tried so many other things and what is one more if it worked it worked what could I loose if it never. I could not possibley hurt anymore than I already was. Guelph acupuncturist I found an acupuncturist who has chiari. Her son also has chiari. She swears that this has given her and hers son's life back. She also does some type of laser therapy. Neither one has been decompressed, but is doing much better. Has anyone gotten any relief from acupuncture???? Newcomb

I was wondering if it would be possible though for my acupuncturist to communicate with your acupuncturist. Perhaps we could both benefit from this relationship? I am at the point where I am trying to educate him. I also have syringomyelia and have an article regarding acupuncture for syringomyelia if you are interested. Guest guest
, That is amazing!! I can't imagine a better person to treat you, then a fellow chiarian with training!! Rick has had good results with accupuncture.....so far just an overall feeling of calmness......he's so mellow afterwards that he doesn't even mind rush hour traffic! :-) He's had tiny breakthroughs with the numbness in his extremities, but for now they don't seem to last. We are hoping that it is just a healing process and will continue to improve. Would you mind giving me the name, address, etc. of your accupuncturist? You can send it to me privately if you like. I think our accupuncturist would be very interested in talking to her......he is very interested in learning how to treat Rick. Thanks! Fairlie's Neurosurgeon will not put a shunt in her spine at this time because he says that " at the level they would have to go into the cord, the damage to the sensation in her hands would be too great " . We are looking for alternatives for pain relief for her. Thank you Joanne Pearce Mother of 9 year old Fairlie. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
