Guest guest
I do not respond to alot of the messages posted, but have received so much information from you all!! I have read that alot of you have had decompression surgery with around 6 mm herniation. My son was diagnosed in January with acm1, but the docs felt he wasn't in enough pain to have the surgery. They also neglected to tell us how much of a herniation he has. I got his medical records because we are getting a second opinion, the current docs are not at all knowledgeable in acm. Anyway, his MRI report stated he has a 10 mm herniation with slight molding of his spinal cord due to the shape of the tonsils at the foramen magnum. What exactly does that mean, and how much can a spinal cord " mold " ? With all his symptoms getting worse, I'm wondering why the docs don't think this is a problem. Is a 10mm herniation " normal " for acm1? I'm beginning to think either I'm crazy, or the current doc is. Any info on this would be great!(Actually, I know I am crazy, so I don't need any info on that particular subject!!!Ha-ha!)Thanks! , mom of 2 & 1/2 years old ------------------------------------------------------------------------
