Guest guest
Your story probably resonates with a lot of us, as it's a long haul before most realize their own home is causing them to be sick. But it's obvious that is the case with your situation. In my opinion, and experience, at the point your at now, there really is no way to make your home safe for you - you have been too sensitized to the mold problem there and trying to remediate will actually likely make you worse.  I know that money is always the factor. But health is more important than anything. Then, when healthy and stable, you can make some money again. You won't get to that point the longer you stay there.  This is the time to call on friends, family, any resources you might still have and get out of the house. There are a very few safe places to stay (EHC in Texas - expensive but can get some treatment; the Natural Place in Florida -- I think that's what it's called...search " environmentally safe hotel " ) -- find one, or a friend's place you tolerate, anywhere else. But the key is - and probably others will have this same hard learned lesson -- DO NOT BRING ANY OF YOUR BELONGINGS, including clothes. Not now, not until you know if they are contaminated, which I'm sorry to say, but for you, they probably will be. And the best way to tell that will be when you get to a clean place, with none of your belongings, and then you literally take a few items from the house, go outside with them, and " test " them -- see how you feel around them. For me, when I finally got out of a mold place years ago...I carted my stuff with me and literally cross contaminated every new place for years until I figured this out. Recently we moved into a place that had a low level mold problem, enough for me to feel it, and even though the tests showed my things should be fine, we're leaving anything upholstered, etc because it is simply not worth it. You'll realize this as you start to feel better -- which you will, when you get away from mold.  Also - from your story, it really sounds like you have developed MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) from the mold exposure. You should really test this by eliminating all products with any level of chemicals or fragrances - including cleaners, laundry detergents, especially fabric softener sheets, etc. Go all natural/organic/scent free. You will undoubtedly feel a difference.  The sinus pain on the left side is often associated with trigeminal nerve issues that get stimulated by mold and chemical exposures. Search that online, but again the remedy is not medicine but elimination of the source of the problem. As you get clear of the irritants, you will be able to wean yourself off the meds and feel so much better. And detoxing will help - sauna sauna sauna - sweat it all out. Took me five years, but what a difference!  I hope this isn't too much. It's just that I've learned the hard way. And I do understand -- recently with our new rental problem, I kept wanting to make the place work. We were there, we had no money to move again, etc etc. I'm literally sleeping on the floor of our old condo right now, while 6 months pregnant, and I brought very little back home, but I feel better already being out of the rental. Nothing nothing nothing is worth you feeling better somewhere else. Even if you go completely broke and have to ask family for support. People are starting to understand the mold reality. Tell them your house is infested and made you sick and you really need help. Do whatever it takes - just get out.  and try as much as you can to relax and get outside often  Jill To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived – that is to have succeeded†-Ralph Waldo Emerson ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. Guest guest
I agree that antibiotics are contraindicated for sinus fungal problems. In my experience, they make the condition worse over the long run. If you think about the natural balance that should occur of mold and bacteria, when you take an antibiotic, you're killing also all the good bacteria and this allows fungus to grow even more. If anything, you need an antifungal (sporonax has been known to " sometimes " help, although it's strong). I take a natural remedy when exposed to mold -- Agrumax - which is just citrus based drops you add to water (NFI). I also use the netti pot. If I wasn't pregnant right now, I'd go back to the Cholestyramine treatment, which some of you may know from Shoemaker's protocol (not for everyone!)  Besides antibiotics, steroids can make matters worse for fungus infections. For me, literally two days after being put on steroids from my mold exposure, I awoke with debilitating MCS which I still have years later. It " tripped " my body to that point.  Another good thing to take would be probiotics, again to help the natural balance in your system. And try to cut out sugar...for now.  Jill To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived – that is to have succeeded†-Ralph Waldo Emerson ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever.
