Guest guest
Lee Probably more than I should have! LOL. I'm giving the ginger a try now to see if it helps. I'm having a slice in my green tea tea. I don't like the taste of ginger that much but I like it in tea & some foods. I've been taking garlic tables for around 6 months now. Ever since seeing in the paper that trials are being held to see if it helps with pseudo infections. After taking them for about 4 months I have noticed a definite improvement in the viscosity & amount of what I cough up. I read that more studies are being done in Britain as tests in vitro suggest that garlic "weakens" the pseudo making it more susceptical to Tobramycin. I also inhale Tobramycin so I think they are working together. I am supposed to be going into hospital in June for a "tune up" but I wouldn't be surprised if I am too well to go in. I guess time will tell as to how well the garlic helps in my case. I am generally better this time of the year than the second half anyway. Keep well everyone. Guest guest
Hi Theresa, omg I didn’t realise you had such severe symptoms – am still glad you were able to have the surgery, it is good to hear someone else does perhaps relate to some degree my own experience. Til joining the chat groups I’d not known anyone with bronch. Now after 18 months I still feel like my circumstances are atypical... I was told, when dx 18yo, only surgical option would be total lung transplant - sheep. After already 20++ ops I found the concept daunting, let alone the idea of having an animal lung... I had pneumonia 2nd time age 20, In my 20s was well enough to work, pay for badly needed dental work (equivalent $ 6-wk Europe round trip in those days). I guess I hoped I’d ‘grow out’ of the poor health, missing heaps of school etc. went to uni did Bach Ed in late 70s, 3rd pneumonia halfway thru, treating specialist report - I was admitted for TLC!!! (I only got the file last year, curiousity – was Klebsellia pneumonia, from sewage flooding etc) . I guess the combo of cleft palate, infant illnesses (not expected to live) delayed cleft repair, surgeries ++.....not good scenario. Oh well, if karmic debt/incarnation is true, I’ve worked off a heap of bad karma I hope!!!!! Am baffled why so often ignored with lungs obviously in such bad shape. Main response was I ‘was depressed’ ... Guess it’s now why I want people to KNOW, be educated about this disease and treatment, managements out there.
