Guest guest
Sharon, or anyone else who may have experience with this - can you elaborate further on what may be causing this mold in the toilet problem? I ask because it is a problem that I have experienced in " my " bathroom only - and it is a problem that did not exist before it became " my " bathroom. I have wondered and commented to my husband that I can not figure out what could be causing this constant staining in the toilet (I am a little fanatical about trying to keep this clean and every couple of days the inside of the toilet is turning black). Is this something else I should be concerned about and begin investigating?? Jeannene In a message dated 1/2/2008 8:21:41 P.M. This is gross, but will tell you all anyway. My daughter has aspergillosis and cystic fibrosis. Mold will grow on the rim of her toilet, just about a half an inch above the water line. For our experiment, we had only her use a particular toilet exclusively, had her switch toilets, had her switch back, etc. (we were in a house with 4 bathrooms) Mold would only grow in the toilets she used. No one else's in the family. But, it took approximately 2 weeks before the mold growth occurred. It was dark brown to black with green and white flecks. Sure hope no one is eating their breakfast while reading this post. But, one of the aspects of cystic fibrosis is that they do not digest fat well. They have greasy stools. If she does not clean her toilet for a couple of weeks, mold grows about a quarter to a half inch above the water line. It has been about 4 years since we actually observed this from an experiment point of view. But, she has been home to visit (she is an adult now) and has used a bath that never gets used. I could see evidence that this still is occurring. If you think it is you, clean your toilet and your husband's toilet with bleach. Then, switch toilets for a few weeks. See if the black stains follow you. Guest guest
Sharon K, If this comes from her body how does one go about getting mold out their body? I took antifungals for awhile but then switched to another product. If she still has mold in her body does it mean she is stull very sick with residual from mold exposure? Guest guest
From what I understood from Sharon's post, her sibling has oily stools due to her illness. It is the stools which make the toilet bowl more susceptable to producing mold in less time than a normal person's stools. The mold is not in the body but the oil in the stools makes the mold, which is caused by her illness...not sure if I got it right but that is how I interputed it. --- Sharon <shha2002@...> wrote: > Sharon K, > > If this comes from her body how does one go about > getting mold out > their body?
