Guest guest
Has anyone heard of a company called One Day Mold Removal located in Fort , Colorado? They have a website _www.onedaymoldremoval.com_ (http://ww w.onedaymoldremoval.com) . On their website and after speaking with them personal for an extended period of time - they claim they can " fog " a home which will call all exposed molds AND mycotoxins. They also claim the chemicals used are 100% safe for people with severe chemical sensitivities. Their assertations are that in one day they will be able to fog the home, and by the next day the home will be safe to return to with the air now being " sanitized " . They offer a 100% money back gaurantee and not only that, but they also have an option that if mold returns in 5 years - even after a new leak - they will remediate the mold for free. I would love to hear anything anyone may know about this. Guest guest
Jeannene, Because they are near me I'll try to find out more about them and their service. From reading their Web site I have the following comments: 1. I would guess they are using MDF50, which has been the topic of recent debate and of some concern between Doug Haney and Jack Thrasher. 2. They rightly and accurately disclose that they cannot get to mold inside walls or which is otherwise " hidden. " Only what is on surfaces. 3. They clearly state they kill mold but do not remove mold. Neither the " fog " removes it nor do they physically remove the leftovers. And the following statement is concerns me greatly: With our process, the cleaning off of the dead mold is no longer a health choice, it is a cosmetic choice. So, it is your choice whether to clean it off or not. This is totally WRONG as most of you already know. Dead mold, even without mycotoxins, remains very problematic! 4. Despite their recommendation to have an independent professional conduct testing to verify the success of their process, they emphatically specify the testing should be for viable (live) spores only. The reason, as they readily admit, is because the spores they killed will be floating around for quite some time. And we all know what this means, especially as it cross-contaminates contents and clothing. 5. Their warranty sounds better than most but I'd like some testimonials to verify they actually comply. Unfortunately, they won't give testimonials or references because of " privacy concerns. " 6. I really like the fact they don't test or assess or even inspect because that is a conflict of interest with remediation. However, their emphasis on no need to test because of their warranty tends to negate raise additional questions for me. 7. Claims of the product being absolutely safe for everyone including the hypersensitive individual raises many Red Flags for me. First, because that cannot be true for any substance. Second, EPA law (FIFRA) specifically prohibits the making of claims of being " safe " for any registered products. One day mold removals sounds great and the way the site is written is very convincing and reassuring. I give them credit for many honest statements. But I concerned about what they don't say about the health concerns for dead mold and hidden mold. If all they do is kill mold (which isn't necessary) that is on visible surfaces that can be cleaned off anyway, then why not just clean the surfaces? Especially since that is what they tell you to do after they have killed it. Just remove it in the first place and save the expense of paying them to kill it. THAT appears to be the flaw in their procedure. Carl Grimes Healthy Habitats LLC ----- > Has anyone heard of a company called One Day Mold Removal located in > Fort , Colorado?
