Guest guest
Hi All, As some of you know I take chlorine dioxide to kill the fungus that has accumulated over five years in my body. I found this article and wanted to know what your thoughts are on cleaning books with chlorine dioxide. Does it work? What do you think about the selective toxicity of chlorine dioxide? In other words it tends to kill the bad stuff but leave the good stuff. http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/byorg/abbey/an/an24/an24-4/an24-402.html Sharon Hanson
Guest guest
I used the gas packs when I put all my toxic stuff in storage- everything molded any way-maybe just too much humidity and air from others moldy stuff. My husband was an old book collector-I used everything to try and keep the mold off of leather books-somethings moldy's just should not do-one is have book collections. > to know what your thoughts are on cleaning books with chlorine > dioxide. Guest guest
I TOTALLY agree! I am in the process of moving and I had TONS and TONS of books. I started whipping them down and sun airing them but soon realized I was getting ill each time I got them stirred up. I have either sold or given most of mine away as of late. I have decided if I need a book, I will go to the library. It is not worth keeping something which will make one ill. I aways loved my books but it feels so much lighter and better to not have the baggage and extra clutter of books. I don't think I will miss them one bit! Unless one uses a book quite ofter for reference, it is not worth having a bunch of books laying around collecting dust and mold. I feel my books were my worst enemy as far as the dust and mold even though I treasured them...but, now they are in the hands of ones who will read and use them...no use in collecting a bunch of stuff which makes me sick! The books did not appear moldy but living in a house with mold, it is no telling what has landed on them so I am rid of them. --- In , " carondeen " <kdeanstudios@...> wrote: > <SNIP> somethings > moldy's just should not do-one is have book collections. > <SNIP>
