Guest guest
Yes, it is an outrage, but a 'predictable' outrage, and one of the reasons that school mold is unique. Libraries, are repositories of information for children within a school building. Librarians are charged with not only teaching the systems of organization of information that children can access, but also, starting with the lowest shelves, " turning the kids on " (along with parents and teachers, of course) to the world that books can bring a child into. Teachers, as a class (and that includes other school professionals and staff) are undervalued in this country as compared to, most of the world, and Western Europe, France in particular. Teachers, visiting in France or working there, need only flash some identification that they 'are' teachers and are often given free or greatly discounted access to museums, libraries and other exhibits, under a philosophy which wisely knows that anything that the teacher learns in that museum will enhance the education of children. It carries over to school librarians. This nation trains teachers to find information - because the notion is " the truth will set you free. " It will in almost every situs EXCEPT the school, where the truth about air quality, or lack thereof, is spoken in hushed tones, or not at all. was the guardian of information in her position of librarian. When kids need assistance to write a report or research a project, is the " go-to " person. People need to reflect on the power that school people have to ignite the flame that fosters a kid pursuing a hobby, a profession or sport, from the information that is contained in the school library. Having served with on the board of founder, Sue Brinchman's " schoolmoldhelp " I will tell you that she used every tool at her disposal to enlighten and inform those who know/knew little or nothing about mycotic illness, which has been marginalized in this country. It is amazing that the person that we count on as the conduit of information for children is as poor as that which I was subjected to as a " conduit of information " - in the quest of education - from educare, the Latin, " to lead out of the darkness. " It defies reason. This treatment, to protect oneself, and the children, is, at best of the most reprehensible type. Only in the school context, are children completely powerless, to speak up about health conditions brought about by the lack of fitness of a school building which purports to be the safe haven for both students and staff. Adults have choices - children do not. I feel badly not only for the children whose futures are less rich, from Page's absence, but for those whom were never touched by it. © snk1955@... a écrit : That is outrageous that they could do that to . **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)
