Guest guest
Hi Norma I tested for UTI with test strips from the pharmacy today and she came up negative. Guess she's just having a bad week. I can relate to that! Well, at least the test strips saved me a 32 mile round trip to the Dr. Taking mom in to see him next week to talk about this eating thing and check her out. Mom is on Aricept which pretty much stopped her hallucinations when she started taking it about a year and a half ago. She also takes Zoloft which has kept her from talking about doing herself in. She is also on Provigil. THIS drug has been really helpful. Without it I think she would sleep 22 out of 24 hours. Unfortunately it is not covered by her insurance and is very expensive. Another argument every month when it has to be renewed. I just set up a separate account for her that I can use to purchase some of these expensive things without having to ask her to write a check. Another argument solved. I also put her medical insurance pmt on auto pay from her checking so that argument went away. Now if there was some kind of auto hair washing and bath machine I could hook her up with hmmmm...... It has been a bad week but I try to count my blessing. At least she is able bodied, I am able to keep a close watch on her now under the same roof, I still feel pretty ok about leaving her alone when I have to work (as long as I am around for med time) Things could always be worse but on the down side they will be soon enough. My hardest challenge is the truly nasty hurtful behavior. I do everything to help her and she views me as the enemy. I guess we all face that one. Thanks & mom Ginny 84 yrs **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
, I do hope the nastiness will pass. It's very possible it will. In the meantime, you certainly are doing a wonderful job. As you said, it's great that you can still leave her alone and that she has some independence.
