Guest guest
Sure, valid point - all systems have costs of administration. HOWEVER...given that there are literally THOUSANDS of kinds of insurance coverage, this also adds costs to the doctors' end of keeping up with all the particular sets of rules and actually getting paid. A so-called 'single payer' system would drive up efficiency and allow a greater percentage of funds to go toward health care itself rather than fighting about whether someone's policy allows them access to that care. Here in Texas, insurance companies find it worth their time to anonymously file complaints with the state against doctors that they'd prefer not to pay, hoping it will get the doctors licenses removed... which is how this subject ties directly into the topics of this board as several of the best mold doctors in the country have been under assault through these mechanisms. ~Haley Sharon <shha2002@...> wrote: When discussing healthcare administrative costs refer to all costs that are administrative in nature. This includes the provider, the insurance companies and any other costs that exist to administer healthcare in this country. There are people who believe that if you eliminate these costs of running the broken healthcare system you would take out costs that don't add value and more money could be spent on the care of patients or the cost would simply go away.
