Guest guest
This gets me so upset. How dare they take advantage of people. I just went on this website below and the EPA publication ie A Guide to Mold, Moisture and Your Home is being sold for $30 when one can get it off the EPA site for free. What is up with these websites that are trying to sell the public, and us mold victim's products that we can obtain free on the original sites that offer them. Talk about make a buck,on us........I think we should start making comments to the sites regarding selling free educational products,( just like the site that I found selling the Free IAQ Posters to people).... Link to the sites list price on a Free EPA publication is: http://www.realtor.org/prodser.nsf/products/141-24?OpenDocument#detail happyruiam <happyru@...> wrote: I'm so glad they have all the " FACTS " ... could this be " FALSE ADVERTISING " ...hmmmm RISMEDIA, Jan. 11, 2008- " The Facts About Mold' is an informational guide created by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Guest guest
Shhhhhhhh. There's a LOT we can get upset about where ever we look. The situation with denial about mold is flat out MESSED UP. That said, while those of us on this list know that the content of this document is of zero help to anyone who's had mold colonization and is trying to tackle the mess it has made in their home and lives, take a second to think clearly about what's posted here... the page ACTUALLY lists a cost of $15, but it's not for one copy, it's for a pack of 5 because this page is designed for real estate offices... it wasn't set up as a resource for us, and it's not meant to rip off individual citizens, OK? I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm tired all the time, and I have to budget my outrage for the things that relate to me and can be changed. Do we want to knock the real estate industry for distributing a government publication, or do we want to work to get the publication to reflect something closer to the truth about mold that we'd actually LIKE other groups to distribute? ~Haley Darlene <darlenesb2000@...> wrote: This gets me so upset. Guest guest
Haley, this is part of the industry examples of how we are treated as mold victims. I know what you are saying. Yes this is piddly compared to the fight for our rights as mold victims, but I just don't believe that certain organizations out there that are suppose to help, should be charging for free products. That is all I am saying. We are all ready financially burdened due to our mold illnesses, and if we need the material and is offered for free and many of us do not know this material is free, they spend out of what little they have to benefit organizations for their own profit. This is minor compared to what we have to deal with, and I never said it wasn't. Do you understand my concept of the less minor issue I was trying to get across? I am not trying to sound harsh, I just think mold victim's that need or want educational materials, that can't afford them, should know there are other resources out there for them at no charge. Guest guest
Darlene: The publications by EPA, ACGIH and other are not factual regarding the health dangers of indoor air resulting from microbial growth. If people want the facts they should go to www.moldenvironment.com You and I are trying to get the facts out to the Public. I have been working with the Bermuda Police Department. Police officers have died, some have brain aneurisms, and other kidney failure. Those with kidney failure may need transplants. Lung disease is also prevalent. Jack D.
