Guest guest
Mr. Jacson: If you are making a list add my name to it. It seems yours has been placed on many. I do not hesitate to tell you that I support the amendment that was attached to House Bill 2085, and I will continue to support my peers, those that have paved the way for me and taught me in EMS. I urge you to find a way to take all of the education you feel is so important to the rural communites. Make it available to ALL EMS people across this state. As far as I am concerned all of this should have been in place and available before a " next " step was taken. Everyone cannot travel to you Dave, therefore I believe since you find that people are undeserving of a license without a degree that you take your program to them. What steps have you taken to ensure that they will equally be given the same opportunity at the same education when they live so many miles from an institution? And have you made certain that the cost to those people will be no greater than those that live in the cities? You are an advocate of education then I challenge you sir not to sit complacently by and watch it unfold, or wait for Gene's program to unfold. As I understand it TJC is taking steps in this direction, what steps have you taken? Let these rural communities know what you are going to do for them in the future. There are many fine people working in EMS, some with degree's, most without. There is nothing you could say or do that would make me believe one is better than the other. Also I believe everyone knows what your opinion of most of us that are currently working in the field is. You have not endeared yourself to any of us. I have remained silent for quite some time, sitting back waiting to see what would happen. Now we know. Don't tell me if you want the education you can go out and get it. It simply is not that easy, so this is what you wanted what are you going to do about it? You are an educator, so educate me on how you plan to bring this same level of education to everyone who wants it. To all who have voiced an opinion, thank you. No two people are alike but we as a Profession cannot descriminate against anyone for voicing what they believe in or trying to persuade others to their way of thinking. Now let's get on with it. The ball is now in your court Mr. , if we are going to play by your rules then make if fair. Show us how you are going to bring the same opportunities to Rural Texas that others have, they deserve the same care and respect as anyone else.
