Guest guest
, You might find that by becoming a student, you may take advantage of any consortium arrangement between your university and others with regard to use of library sources. So, even if your university doesn't subscribe to a particular journal, another university in the consortium might, and you'd be able to access the article through a joint-use agreement that's part of the consortium package. Good luck. Guest guest
Yep... Hospital libraries are another source. They often share their library access with other hospitals as well as private institutes and other such entities, such as specialized medical clinics. As an example of a shared-resource process using non-public libraries, the Bar Association of Multnomah County has, for years, had a cooperative arrangement with Standard Insurance, based here in Portland, to share its legal departments access to a very large law library, including on-line journals, for all members of the bar association. Since I'm not an attorney but AM a lay member of the disability law section of our state bar association, I get "a freebie." Always nice to know if I can't otherwise decisions or law journal articles on line without paying a stiff access charge. Before I retired, I had a cooperative arrangement with two trial attorneys here in Portland that allowed me access privileges to the Oregon Supreme Court's library, which is well stocked with printed and on-line journals and reporters. Always nice to know of these deals, and if one is an intern or has a residency placement in such places, such privileges often follow as well. Re: Article - heavyweight Hi : Thanks as I now have access at a university level. I think another resource would be hospitals?? Years ago our hospital library was able to access an article for me as they subscribed and I didn’t as a lay person. Just a thought….
