Guest guest
hi mary, i knew katie way back when she would go wherever she was asked - for free and take a free offering, hoping to make enough to pay her to go there. sometimes she made enough and sometimes she didn't AT ALL.... once in chicago when she was just starting out, she traveled there for the weekend and she wasn't well known there then, and there about 10 of us in the audience for the weekend. i know there was no way she made her plane fare there. and she really believed in not charging for her work. i was also present when she said that she was going to have to stop traveling, because there was no money to pay for it any longer and and she really believed in not charging for the work. anyone who was working for her was volunteer including people who volunteered to cut her hair! people came and went as they could afford to- in other words, most people can not afford to " volunteer " indefinitely. anyway, loving her and wanting the work to move, i can see why as she became more in demand, that it was/is necessary to charge for what she does. would any of us work as hard as she does- for free? i mean the woman had to live and eat etc. i don't begrudge her one penny bc of the many years she worked for free and bc what she does is so valuable to me that i am willing to pay for it. lovingly laurie > I just got an email from, I guess, 's company, telling me yet > again of all the great DVDs and recent materials available. > > And I look at it, and see the prices, one was nearly $300, and I > wonder, why, if she and others feel the work is so important, why not > just offer the videos free online? > > and her corporation should offer this stuff free online. > > Is that true? Guest guest
Hi , Cool stuff to do The Work on - let us know how it goes. Reminds me of a BK quote which goes something like - " We're either investigating our beliefs or attaching to them, there's no other choice. " Yesterday, given how I was feeling I read about turnaround house, thought it sounded amazing, then saw the price - my thoughts were: " It should be free " " I should be able to go for free " " I need Turnaround House NOW! " I also have thoughts like: " The DVDs should be more easily available in the UK " " I should be able to find more free stuff about The Work " " More people should post their inquiries online " I have previously felt this way about The School (it should cost less), plus when reading about the certification program and how long / extensive it was the main thought that came to mind was: " Byron is a control freak " This is one of the memorable occasions for me that as soon as I wrote it down I started laughing uncontrollably (control freak let loose). One of the reasons I find it better that more is not available online is that I can often be a viewer rather than active participant in The Work - it brings me back to doing my own Work. Here's a thought - maybe the videos could be offered for a fee online - for download maybe? With love, Jon
Guest guest
hi mary ~ what i have noticed is that when i am focused on what i believe i cannot 'afford' and what i beleive should be offered for 'free' i miss what IS actually offered and available for me! although i dont know if i love that i can't afford to go and stay at the turnaround house, i do know that i am in a place where if i see something that i dont have the money for, i usually know simply that i don't need it!! did you read kt's message about why the cost of the turnaround house is what it is? it made sense to me. have you ever considered attending the school??? they are expanding the scholarship program for the school and it is the sale of videos, dvd's and the fact that people who can afford to purchase these things do pay the stated costs that allows for scholarships to be offered. i went to the school and the tuition was free as were my accomodation costs...i simply asked for what i wanted and applied for the scholarship. if you are interested, i would highly recommend applying and attending the next school. advertiser's shouldnt mislead people...is anything ever what it seems or what we expect it to be?? when we really know this, then we are just open to what things show up as rather than being disappointed that things weren't what we saw 'pictured'....and that is the place that the work has helped me to get to, and i do love that! anyway, your post just brought up all these ramblings for me.... c > > I just got an email from, I guess, 's company, telling me yet > again of all the great DVDs and recent materials available. > > And I look at it, and see the prices, one was nearly $300, and I > wonder, why, if she and others feel the work is so important, why not > just offer the videos free online? > > and her corporation should offer this stuff free online. > > Is that true? Guest guest
i agree laurie, and as we all know, the work is free...the questions and the turnarounds are avaiable for free and the hotline is free if you want to do the work with a person. also, there are ways to have things come to you if you are willing to ask...people share dvd's, videos, books, audio tapes, share costs, etc. if you cant seem to afford something and you really think you want/need it, start asking for it, and keep asking for it until it comes to you or yourealise that you no longer want/need it. this is great work! > > > I just got an email from, I guess, 's company, telling me yet > > again of all the great DVDs and recent materials available. > > > > And I look at it, and see the prices, one was nearly $300, and I > > wonder, why, if she and others feel the work is so important, why not > > just offer the videos free online? > > > > and her corporation should offer this stuff free online. > > > > Is that true? Guest guest
Hi , I might at some point - maybe this year, maybe next, maybe never - don't they say that the school is always open - day to day life? Life brings up enough stuff for me at the moment without adding the school in :-) And I notice I have some fears and resistance to going - my ex-wife attended the school in October 2006 and at the time I didn't think I needed it - ho, ho, ho... Guest guest
Hi Jon ~ I understand the resistance Jon ~ and I dont understand it when one is seeing the benefits of the work in their life. And yes, all of life is a 'school' and it's not necessary to attend, just like it's not necessary to buy dvd's, vidoeo's or listen to audio's of people doing the work with katie. But if you are interested in the work, there is no place like the School to spend 9 days immersed in it, and it's fun ~ lot's of working thru stuff and lots of joy as a result. the more you feel like life is bringing up, the more i see it as a great place to consider being for 9 days ~ as katie says, why would you want to live any more of your life without it?? especially when there are scholarships available and you can come out the otherside with the work more integrated and a part of you naturally ~ just questions to consider especially when we are discussing thoughts about what we believe isnt available to us. Guest guest
The questions that come into my head are. I need something from ? .. Is that true? owes me (the world) something? Is that true? I should get things for free? Guest guest
Hi Group, I use to live in a turnaround house for more than a year, we were only two people dough, and sometimes the turnarounds would be very intense, so intense that in the end I started protecting myself with a mirror. The more I turned around, the mirror I became, until in the end I started seeing mirrros everywhere even within myself. Now I still see them wherever I turn my face, I'm so attached to mirrors and reflections that I completely lost touch with my reality. Well my reality is now that of a mirrors. ... Guest guest
Hi Thanks for your response - so I almost sent quite a defensive, smart-ass response to your message yesterday. Then I tried a different tactic - ignore it and it will go away :-) Hasn't worked (and never does!). So, here's what comes up for me about The School right now - and of course this stuff comes up all over, including with this group: They won't like me They will destroy me They will tell me to get out They will shout at me I won't be able to get out She (Byron ) will tell me I am a useless fuck If I let go I will die I will get angry and hurt someone (physically and/or verbally) I don't deserve to go for free It will be easier for other people if I am not there / not involved I notice I have a fear around people in general and especially with big groups - a fear of being consumed / obliterated. And I can see there's some (Ok, a lot of) inquiring I could do work to do with all of this. Would love to hear other people's beliefs about going to the School. With love and thanks , Jon x > > Hi Jon ~ > > I understand the resistance Jon ~ and I dont understand it when one > is seeing the benefits of the work in their life. Guest guest
I must say I was surprised by the price of the 28 day stay.. $20000. That seems like a lot of money, but that's just my thought.
Guest guest
thanks for sharing this Jon ~ or course, i can relate to most of your thoughts and every time i spontaneously post something here or anywhere some of these thoughts show up to show me where i can go next with inquiry. i'm really interested in letting people know that if they are genuinely wanting to have these experiences, and feel that money is keeping them from it...that it is still possible!! and not everyone is ready for what one experiences at teh school and not everyone needs that experience. i love stating the obvious!!:-) > > > > Hi Jon ~ > > > > I understand the resistance Jon ~ and I dont understand it when one > > is seeing the benefits of the work in their life. Guest guest
For me doing The Work on stuff includes the 4 questions, not only the turnarounds as I just spin around in circles. Without that I'm just making up a lot of stuff about other people, what they do and don't think. And I didn't say other people don't have problems - I'm more interested in checking out how I act if I believe other people have problems, versus without that and cleaning up my own act - and it doesn't stop me offering help and assistance to others, I'm just getting clearer that I'm doing it for me as much as for them. And I'm a learner with this stuff - God help anyone that follows me because I don't know what I'm doing :-) Sounds like you have some cool stuff coming up around / about me - would love to read a JYN worksheet on me if you are open to doing that / sharing that. With love and thanks, Jon

Guest guest
Hi there - sorry, I meant fill in a Judge Your Neighbor worksheet about me (if you don't know what this is I can email you one) - and it's up to you whether you do want to do The Work on the judgments you have about me - I'm not saying you should as I've learnt that if I think someone else should do The Work then I need it. (It's one of the things I love about The Work - no-one has to do it other than me - for some reason I find this quite funny - the thought that Byron and everyone else might just stop using it, but I can carry on no matter what.) Actually I'm most interested in finding out what you think of me so that I can (a) find it in myself to see if I am OK with that and ( if I have any resistance to anything you write about me I can do The Work on it :-) In fact I'm happy to receive anyone's judgments and beliefs about me. And if you want to clean some stuff up along the way, I'm good with that as well. With much love and thanks, Jon x --- Re: 'Turnaround House' and LWI DVDs Date: Thu, January 24, 2008 5:55 pm To: Loving-what-is LOL, what's a JYN, you mean I should simply do some work about you? Guest guest
One of the things I did the work on still comes up with me now and again and it takes me a minute to remember that I already did the work on this. I dislike the snow and cold and get angry with my husband for " making me live here " (which BTW is Chicago it is a -25 out there). Yesterday morning I got up and as I was coming down the stairs I looked at the living room of my house (which is huge with cathedral ceilings) and said to myself I cannot believe I live in this house. It is so beautiful I love living here. Later on my third trip out of the house to pick up kids from school (I have 3 pick ups in the afternoon) it started to snow and as I went kidding thru the intersection on the full blow ice my heart started to pound and I started to panic. When I got control of the minivan and started to calm down all I could repeat to myself over and over was why to I live here, why do I live here. I hate this place. It took me until I got the third pick up done to finally sit down and remember I already did the work on this and oh yeah. I live here because I love my husband, and my children and my house, and my friends and this is where they are. I was immediately at peace. But alas these conflicting feeling about the same thing still go around and around. _____ From: Loving-what-is [mailto:Loving-what-is ] On Behalf Of helenoftroy1919 Sent: Thursday, January 24, 2008 8:23 PM To: Loving-what-is Subject: Re: 'Turnaround House' and LWI DVDs > > > > > > > > > > > > I just got an email from, I guess, 's company, telling > > me > > > yet > > > > > > again of all the great DVDs and recent materials available. > > > > > > > > > > > > And I look at it, and see the prices, one was nearly $300, > > and > > > I > > > > > > wonder, why, if she and others feel the work is so important, > > > > why not > > > > > > just offer the videos free online? > > > > > > > > > > > > and her corporation should offer this stuff free > > online. > > > > > > > > > > > > Is that true? Guest guest
Hi ~ Thanks for sharing this. Have you ever done the work on 'my husband makes me live here'? It may be interesting. I also live in a cold climate (I am a little further north than you in NW Ontario and yes, we have been having frigid temps as well, lots of travel on ice and snow covered roads, etc) Many of us have heard say that she did the work on her mother for 3 years....so, whether we've worked certain thoughts or not, when they arise and cause stress it's time to inquire again ~ and it's not my business how many times I have to inquire in order to find peace. what thoughts do i do the work on? the one that is arising now that is causing my suffering. just as a side note, i have noticed that when i choose to drive in these winter conditions i have become much more mindful, very much in the present moment and in the NOW since my survival and the survival of my passengers seems to depend on it (and that's an interesting story too!). it is a good place to be and the work brings me to that place as well, present, available in the moment watching how things unfold. cheers, c Korta wrote: One of the things I did the work on still comes up with me now and again and it takes me a minute to remember that I already did the work on this. Guest guest
Nehti asked - Happyness is a great achievement, but how can I be happy as long as I identify with people who are not? turn it around! Helen: Don't identify with their lack of happiness. Identify with their potential for happiness! Look at them and see opportunities to assist them, and then assist them in any way you can. When you are looking for a solution or are working on a solution you will feel positive energy. (You will be happy.) When you are observing a problem and identifying with a problem you will feel negative emotion. If you identify so stronly with all these problems than you have a tremendous opportunity to give. Give them positive energy by turning it around. If their pain is your pain, then your happiness is their happiness. What more could you give them?
