Guest guest
Thanks. I haven't tried Shaklee but I've heard that Senna even though natural should not be used over a period of time. It says for occasional use on the Shaklee web. Did you use it for just a short period of time? THanks so much! Guest guest
yes, we only used it for a short period. The docs are using PEG for years at a time, against the manufacturers advice which to me seems like a greater risk than something made from a plant. Guest guest
Also, keep in mind that many children have a fear of going b/c of prior large bm's. sometimes they need that stimulating extra push to get them through it so the CAN acheive pain free bm's. If we don't get them to go NOW, it's only sitting in their gaining size and width. In my opinion, a non-toxic chemical that has TOXIC impurities certainly couldn't be a better choice. PEGs contain potential toxic impurities such as ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane. PEGs are nephrotoxic if applied to damaged skin.[4] Polyethylene glycol has a low toxicity and is used in a variety of products. PEG, PEO, or POE refers to an oligomer or polymer of ethylene oxide. The three names are chemically synonymous, but historically PEG has tended to refer to oligomers and polymers with a molecular mass below 20,000 g/mol, PEO to polymers with a molecular mass above 20,000 g/mol, and POE to a polymer of any molecular mass.[2] PEG and PEO are liquids or low-melting solids, depending on their molecular weights. PEGs are prepared by polymerization of ethylene oxide and are commercially available over a wide range of molecular weights from 300 g/mol to 10,000,000 g/mol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyethylene_glycol From: Khwaja To: "miralax " <miralax >Sent: Sun, January 15, 2012 8:30:26 PMSubject: Re: Miralax alternatives / Jeanie Thanks.
