Carol, I know the reason I do.

It was the way I was brought up (raised) my family took

care of each other. Love and responsibility was taught

to us, we realized that is what one does

My sister is 82 now and the first in our family of 8 to have

to be moved to a NH. Does it bother me? You bet, the face

looks so lost, even tho she knows about the disease or rather

she did in Dec when I was visiting. Now from what I

hear from the son, I am not sure.

Actually we are taught from the scriptures that we are

to take care of the elderly. Most of you probably don't

remember but many years ago it was not uncommon to have

grandparents or even aunts, uncles or cousins living

together. It would have been much easier with many

being the caregiver.

Until SS and medicaid came along our loved ones were

kept at home, but there was more than one caregiver.

Also when women started working out of the home

it was like taking away the very core of the home.

Not saying I think women should not work, I am just

saying what has brought us to the place we now are.

I guess what I am saying I was taught it was the

right thing to do and because we love family.

So Carol, I think that is the reason I am a caregiver for

my sister, that and she has no children, well step children

but she hasn't heard from them in 5 years.

Most people that don't have a close family; sharing, loving

supporting one another and even not agreeing all the time

(that is what happens in my family now, lots of times)

but I think most of all it is the LOVE.

Now sometimes, even tho we want to, we just can't keep

our love one with us, for whatever reason.

I agree that I was raised the same way. Do unto others, and all that! I paid

attention in Sunday School, and it is part of my fiber.

I guess i was just absolutely taken aback by her attitude!

I knew I had to do a sanity check with you guys.

If not me, who?

I am not going back to that office for any reason.

Now that I have the magic combination for meds, I will go back to my primary

care doctor.

If nothing else, I did regain my resolve.

Yes, I will continue to piss and moan, and poke sarcasm at the Lewy Body

himself, but, you guys are worth more than a lady who gets paid to tell me I

don't get it.

There are no children around, my husband is right next door, and I can

continue to teach school and stay in touch with the outer world.

I tried to respond to Elsie last night, and I understood the points she was

making, and after writing, my husband came and got the air card, I think I have

saved my response to Elsie, and will post this afternoon.

the manatees are playing right in front of our picture windows. It is foggy,

but my husband shot about 100 pictures.

i am off Monday and hope to get out and get great stories of large mammals to

share.

I know most of you are socked in, and I only share to give your imaginations a

warm place to bask, if only in your mind.

I am going to meet my aunt at the beach for lunch. it has been years since I

have seen her.

She lives in Minnesota and Arizona, weather permitting.

I have to get ready, but I will be back this afternoon.
