That is an insane amount of Miralax. If his stool is now liquify now, that would say it's done, he's clean. Any further doses and it may kill his nerves to go (deadening the ileum), not to mention possible other side effects.

I'd like to introduce myself and ask if anyone has experience with this. My 9 yr old has autism and has experienced constipation for yrs. We have a DAN, have been GFCFSF and avoid other foods as well. We follow AC protocol, have tried high dose c, mag.citrate, aloe juice,etc. Nothing has helped the GI issues although we've made great progress in other areas. He has been non-stop rubbing his groin area and punching his stomache for about 2 years now. He has 1-2' long, soft-serve yellow,tan stools about every other day. I finally broke down and took him to the GI clinic at our children's hospital. They prescribed a cleanout using Miralax- 1 capful every hour for 6 hours or until stool is clear, for 2 days and to double his dose of mag citrate for 2 days. We began last night with 4 doses and have had 6 doses today. He is liquidy after 2 stools now. I'm feeling nervous about this (we tried Miralax a couple years back and it made him very hyper). He was extremely hyper this morning and is now fairly mellow, still rubbing his groin like crazy. This just seems like such a huge amount of miralax for a 58 lb. kiddo. Has anyone else tried this?
