Guest guest
Been in new home since Sunday. Been lots of very tiring and hard work cleaning all of my belongings before moving. Especially while I was so ill that I was even put in hospital during my cleaning and packing at one time about a month ago. Some belongs were thrown out and not worth cleaning or too far gone from the horrible smell. I am doing so much better. Before move, sinus infection, asthma, stomach issues and etc. Just horrible horrible sick. Now, 99% better. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will stay well. Have not had to use any medication since Monday. Been worn out from moving but not sick for once! This is a first for me and I have been ill for years and was taking meds all day every day. It was a miracle we got this house. For those of you who know me, I got very depressed last year because I could not afford an enviromental doctor whom I needed to pay $500.00 before going back... but now, I am in a clean brand new, never lived in house so I may no longer need the doctor. Oh, by the way, I had only one box of items which I did not clean. It was a boz of extention cords, phone cords, electrical adapters and all sorts of cords and other things. I opened it and the odor about knocked me out. I placed it all in a trash bag and placed down into a plastic sealed container and in an outside storage building. I may take time to clean these items in the summer when I can work on it outdoors or they all may go in the trash. I am not sure if I can stand much more cleaning for awhile..lol. For my other items that I cleaned, on some days, I used a solution of ammonia and water to clean items but this was ALWAYS done out doors as the weather was warmer back then. On other days, I used a mixture of bleach and water, outdoors of course. I NEVER used different cleaning solutions on the same day as I did not want to create another issue with fumes. I made sure all items were sun dried and redried and bagged it all in plastic. I even disinfected and washed each and every dish before leaving my mold home. Everything was cleaned and disinfected, even toothbrushes, hair brushes, you name it, it was cleaned...even my bottles of lotions, shampoos, make-up and etc, were all cleaned. I am very tired, but it was all worth the hard work, time and energy. Now, it is time to take a much needed rest and a hope to good health and cleaner living. All I can say, when I continued to get at my worse back in Oct and it looked like there was no more hope and I would die from the mold house as it seemed like each house we moved into for the past few years had a mold issue..we would move out of one only to find ourselves in another moldy home..all were a cover up, especially the last one...when we left, we could clearly see all the cover ups as the mold was growing through the paint and etc....we could not find a house which did not have mold that we could afford. I had gotten so sick that I could no longer work. That was in 2002. I had been stricken with mold way before then but it finally took it's toll on me. In Oct, I prayed again, and my prayers were answered. With all the rates in houses going down and all, we really were at the right place at the right time. The day I saw this house in the paper, I asked my husband if he wanted to go look at this house. I know he just went to make me happy because I could read in his face that he was thinking we would not be able to get into a new home but it happened, a miracle. For once in many many years, things are looking up and falling into place. For those who feel as horrible as I have been feeling for over 6 years, please don't stop fighting nor give up, there is hope. Now, I am keeping my fingers crossed, I believe all will be OK now.
