NP Moss Middle School Parents found out there is evidence of mold

inside the building. That announcement was made last night during a

public meeting.

School parents hired an outside contractor to see how bad the

situation is at the school and the architect says getting students

away is a wise decision.

The most substantial thing to come out of Tuesday night's meeting

there is evidence of mold in NP Moss Middle. Or at least, that's

what the private contractor says.

Mold and water were at the top of the list of Tuesday's meeting. The

water leaking inside the two classrooms affected was the biggest

concern the private architect told parents that though the

investigation is not complete, there is evidence of mold inside the

building.

The firm investigating the problem arrived on Monday. Architect

Broussard agreed that getting students out of NP Moss is very

important.

Further investigation has to continue until anyone knows how far the

problem exists and the school board has hired an architect to start

that work. There were a lot of concerns raised during the question

and answer session.

The first question: is the school safe since mold is inside. Second

question: will NP Moss remain at that location when repairs are

made. The last major question raised what's the next step in this

process.

On January ninth School Board Members will hear the final

recommendation of the architect. At that time we will find out how

much damage is done, the costs, and how long it will take to get the

problem fixed.
