Dear Group,

I'm writing to warn you about a pathetic government agency known as

OSHA and associated with them PEOSHA, for public employees. This

organization is a complete sham. First, start off with the general

state and federal worker apathy coupled with a complete lack of

interest. This is a real group of incompetent boobs and liars. If you

have a problem in an office building, I'd suggest you pack your bags

and leave.

OSHA inspected a building I worked in that had mold growing in the

walls and on ceiling panels, had roof leaks in excess of 7 years and

had employees paint over moldy ceiling tiles instead of replace them.

This fabulous organization came in and " inspected " and guess what?

They said that since the roof was trying to be fixed (at that point

for over 7 years straight), everything was fine!

Part of the outside of the building was missing wall panels and birds

were flying inside, building nests and there were droppings all over

the area. This was like this for 1 ½ years. Guess what? This

" inspector " didn't even make a comment or say it violated sanitary

laws and ignored the whole thing.

The building never had a Certificate of Occupation from the town and

yet had been occupied for over 11 years. I told that to the

" inspector " and guess what? He said " that isn't part of our inspection " .

The building had constant heating and air conditioning problems. In

the summer, the temperature was frequently over 87 degrees. A group of

employees complained to the " inspector " and guess what? Not one word

or piece of information was even added to his report saying the system

needed to be fixed.

The maintenance for the HVAC system required regular checking of tanks

for microbial growths. The tanks were never checked. Guess what? Once

again, there was no mention of this anywhere, yet when I reviewed the

maintenance records there was no record of this work ever being done.

Why am I telling you all of this? I developed a severe illness from

working in this building. I almost died. Had it not been for my

mother, who let me stay with her, who took me to the parade of endless

doctors visits I needed, I would have pulled the plug. Finally, I

needed to get surgery, and am much better, but will now have a chronic

sinus illness probably for the rest of my life.

In addition, I was not the only person to get sick from working there.

It also made me wonder why so many people were getting cancer and had

asma and breathing problems in the place. This is a whole other story!

Please, be aware of this truly useless organization known as OSHA and

PEOSHA. The employees don't care about anything other than a paycheck

and benefits. Also PEOSHA gets money from that particular state. This

state has never ending " budget crisis " so guess what? PEOSHA had to

get rid of over half of their " inspectors " . I was even told directly

by the " inspector " that if a complete inspection of the building and

HVAC system was needed, I would have to call a professional inspection

company because as he said " our resources are very limited and there's

not much we really can do " . Great. And people say they want government

health care?

This must be in NY. Sounds like the same runaround I got.
