Guest guest
So, I'm having outpatient surgery tomorrow and the OR called me yesterday and told me to make sure that I'm drinking plenty of water in the next few days before the surgery--to make sure I'm hydrated to prevent dehydration after the surgery. Then I got to thinking--for my sons last colonoscopy he woke up and ended up being severely dehydrated---they obviously had him on IV fluids the entire time but he could not even move-- we ended up in recovery for 8hrs and they couldn't figure out why he was so dehydrated--well, let's see, his cleanout was MIRALAX---I just put it together yesterday... of course he was going to be dehydrated--the only thing he had for 24hrs before the colonsocopy was insane amounts of Miralax with gatorade... It sickens me to think we went along with this--we thought we had no choice concerning the clean out--however, we now know better and will NEVER use that stuff again for anything...so just a warning--DO NOT USE MIRALAX- EVEN FOR JUST A 24HR CLEANOUT!!
