Guest guest
My Friends, I am sitting here, writing this while overcome with emotion. Bob and Kathy, from the local Catholic church just left after an hour's visit. They also left me a check made out to my apartment complex for the entire month's rent of Sept. with the exception of the late fee which the manager said not to worry about at this time. They also took with them my two month overdue phone bill and dropping it off into the mail, paid in full. I know in my heart this would have never happened if it wasn't for the many messages of comfort and care you have sent me, but more important, this would have never happened without all the prayers that you have prayed for me. How do I know this? I am a Baptist, but they saw me as a person in need. You have no idea how humble I feel right now. I know I still have a long ways to go, but I thank God for people like you who care. With Lot's of Love,
Guest guest
Dear , I was raised in the Catholic Church. Although I'm not currently practicing, I will emphasize that they take the messages to heart, including to " feed the hungry " and perform other good works. I attended Protestant churches in the South for awhile, and I will admit I was put off by this sort of self-absorbed approach, where people seemed concerned only with their personal relationship with God, and whether they and those around them were " saved. " (That is not universally true, by any means. There is a wonderful organization in Asheville, NC, called Asheville-Buncombe County Christian Men that performs many, many good works, and there is also a wonderful group of local physicians who help the needy, including treating the carnival workers when they come to town.) I think it's important to " practice your faith " by helping those in need, rather than just fretting about the state of our souls. I'm glad they were willing and able to help you. Now, , it's time for a talk. No more of you huffing off, refusing to answer questions, fill out forms, etc. Set your pride aside and go back to the government agencies and ask for the $200 a month, as well as other assistance. And keep your spirits up, and don't be late for your doctor appointments! Next time, they might just tell you to go home. It's critical at this time that you get help with your vision, your kidneys, your glucose level, and your weight. Susie
