Hi Carol

I too have bouts of sleeplessness where I cannot turn off the brain. My

remedy is to listen to talk radio. I have a little ear piece that plugs into my

alarm radio and I just hit that sleep button and the radio comes on for 1 hour.

Sometimes there is something interesting to listen to and other times not

but it usually distracts me from the hideous thoughts that plague me in the

still of the night and I am able to drift off. Somehow the quiet and darkness

seem to magnify ones problems to the point of near panic at times. The radio

helps to distract from that.

You can also try 'Bach Flower Remedy--White Chestnut' its a liquid and you take

a few

drops under the tongue (or in a little water if you absolutely can't deal with

the alcohol

taste) right before bed. I used to have the racing mind/worrying thing at

bedtime a lot

and that helped me. You can get it at many health food stores or probably order

it online.

Now I can get to sleep but I just can't usually stay there!!! ;-)
