Guest guest
PS. THE STRESS WITH EXPOSURE IN A MOLDY ENVIRONMENT IS PHYSIOLOGICIAL! IF IT WAS PSYCHOLOGIAL IT WOULDN'T BE JUST PEOPLE EXPOSED TO TOXINS SUFFERING THIS DISEASE. IF IT WAS PSYCHOLOGICAL THERE WOULD BE NO UNMASKING! > > 1997-8 unmasking is refered to a a remission of symptoms(not > recovery unless you weren't exposed enough to cause damage). with MCS > this can only mean advoidance where you are in a clean environment. > free of all chemicals,molds/myco's,voc;s ect. > I've read there is a mild level of olfactory disfunction where it > well heal it'self. thats why I try to tell newbee's to not only > advoid mold/myco's but to rid all chemicals, perfumes ect. from their > environment. > I think I've read some of this before but have never read it all. > 1997-8 so probibly could use some update. one thing I did see is the > PTSD and I just have to say that in there list of inciters, I could > only relate my PTSD to torture, as in bilaterial closed head TBI with > CSF leaks, tremmors, throwing up,not being able to eat, severe stomach > pain, dierrhea, in other words,PAIN. > > http://www.ehponline.org/members/1998/Suppl-1/85-109rowat/full.html > > --------------------------- >
Guest guest
Yes, i think that its been said many times that mold causes physiological stress in many ways. Cytotoxicity is one of the worst kinds of stress there is. It doesn't get any more stressful than that. Toxicological stress is physiological stress on multiple levels.. Immunotoxicity is also stress.. Immune status is impacted by other kinds of stress too. Not just mold, although mold toxins are the basis of many immunosuppressive drugs. There is also a big problem when you have inhibition of protein synthesis because the brain can't make new connections. That causes depression because the brain cant follow its normal process of adaptation, its been proven. Things like mold clearly cause the hippocampus and amygdala to change, damaging short term memory.. That causes depression. Its similar to the effect of being in warfare... it changes people.. That kind of stress is also major stress.. the worst psychological stress we know of.. The effects of the two are very similar physiologically, I think.. Being afraid that you are losing your memory, or losing a job or your family falling apart is very stressful too. If more than one of these stressors happen at the same time, its even worse. Guest guest
Robin-I don't know if this pertains at all to your unmasking but sometimes I get more sensitive. I don't know what it is, maybe an exposure that i didn't realize, but anyway, sometimes my whole safe house is overwhelming to me. It usually presents with my eyes hurting and I have to wear my goggles all the time. It's happened so many times in my supposedly safe bedroom that it's now just something I expect. I decided it's something that travels up to my bedroom, hangs in the air for a few days, then dissipates. It's weird and I can't explain it. I'm not sure it's unmasking because after a few days or weeks I go back to normal. But it's definitely something that affects me and then stops. Anyway, winter is the worst because we can't open the windows and the air is just so bad even in a safe house. > > Can anyone pass on that link to Dr 's site.. Guest guest
Please excuse my ignorance, but what is unmasking, what is ANS? I am relatively new here.
