Guest guest
We saw a Mayo Clinic Ped GI doc yesterday. When he first told me that Miralax was not absorbed in the colon (which every doc has said so far), I told him that I had information that 4% is absorbed in a healthy colon and in colons like my son's possibly more. He said, "Yes, you are probably right." And prescribed my 3 year old son 3oz of Magnesium Citrate and 2 ex laxes for a complete clean out twice a week. > > Also, what he said about Lactulose was also interesting. It is not usually the yeast feeding on the sugar, but the bacteria...causing the gas. Since it is a sugar, it causes acidic stools that lead to a red bottom. ----- Forwarded Message ----To: miralax Sent: Tue, February 24, 2009 5:44:09 AMSubject: Re: Re: Mayo Ped GI says "Probably Right" about PEG Absorption/lacultose I wonder why they don't use magnesium citrate for this? They used to use phosphate soda and mag citrate..... ......... .>> We saw a Mayo Clinic Ped GI doc yesterday.
