Hi Leona,

My husband is on 1/2 of a 25mg of Seroquel in the morning and he sleeps for

about 4 hours give or take a little after taking it, but it keeps his agitation

down during the day and at night, he is on 75mg before bedtime and sleeps

through the entire night. When Jim first started out he was on 25mg 4 times a

day every 4 hours. We say that less is best with medication for our LOs, but in

my opinion, to cut down on the agitation, more Seroquel is sure helpful. Maybe

your husband has adjusted to 1/2 Seroquel and it is not effective enough to

sleep through the entire night and keep down the agitation.

I hope you can find a solution that fits your husband.

It is so discouraging.

I have Ray on Seroquel using 1/2 of a 25 mg tablet at bedtime and he is

sleeping all night ( usually) which is wonderful. However, last evening and

again tonight he starts about 5 pm getting agitated and upset and works

himself right into a frenzy. Last night he turned the rocking chair over,

wads things up, moves things all over the place, monkeys with his pills and

on and on. It lasts about 2 hours and I have to watch him to see where he

is putting things. He won't even remember touching them.

If any of you have experience with Sundowners, does it sound like that

could be what is happening? It gets dark here about 5:30

I was so happy to have him sleeping good--he has been on the Seroquel for

2 weeks. Dr. said to up it to a full tablet after a week but I thought if

1/2 was doing the job, I would stick with that.

Thanks for any help and advice.
