I haven't noticed any smell in ones I've bought at home depot. Don't

remember the maker's name but maybe 3M. They are fabric and

disposable. I put an activated charcoal filter pad inside mine also

that I get at 'icanbreathe.com'. It's held in place by a bit of

velcro. You might be thinking of masks that are made of plastic and

use cartridges. They are more expensive and for people with

sensitivity to smells, may have a plastic or rubbery smell.
