Guest guest
I have had excellent success with CSM! I started using it in Dec. 2003 4X a day and Trental. I now take the CSM twice a day(1st thing in AM and about 10PM) and Welchol twice a day (with lunch and dinner). I never ever missed a dose and followed Dr. Shoemaker's protocol to the letter! I can honestly tell you that I started feeling better within 2 weeks. Certainly not 100% but things began to get better each and every day. The first thing I noticed was my brain fog vanished. Then the debilitating headaches, itchy crawly skin, twitches, racing heart, blurred vision, temp. changes, ear aches, slurred speech, etc. and then slowly the muscle/joint pain subsided. When I first started it I slept for hrs. and hrs. for months and after a while I felt like I was coming out of a coma. It worked for me and I had no serious side effects at all. Only some constipation, belching and heartburn. Four years later I have no muscle/joint pain, headaches only if exposed to mold or chemicals, all my symptoms are gone however I tire very easily (especially if I do too much in a day) but nothing like it was. I try to eat well, rest as much as possible and AVOID places and things that I know are bad for me. What works for some doesn't always work for others but it certainly is worth a try. S Hello, to those that have been exposed to toxic mold and been treated with cholestyramine. Has anyone had a successful treatment using cholestyramine? Or have you had a successful treatment with another treatment method? if so which one? thanks p.s. By successful i mean able to regain the same health as before being exposed to toxic mold **************Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. Guest guest
I'm a patient of Dr. Kolb and I was exposed originally from a medical procedure and then a sick building. I did not take cholestyramine but I did take a lot of different supplements including detox supplements. I took an antifungal drug for about a month and then Miracle Mineral Supplement (chlorine dioxide) for about two months off and on. I am on Adrenal Support End and DHEA as well as another supplement for breast health (I'm high risk for breast cancer and the mold had colonized in my breast from the medical procedure). I am a lot better and I am completely off the steroids. I have returned to work part time. I have changed though and I know it has to do with this disease. There is one part of this change I don't mind and that is I never stress anymore. My type A personality is gone. Guest guest
Sharon, How did you take MMS? Is it something you get online? How many times a day, etc? It sounds reasonable since chlorine is effective against mold. > > > > Hello, to those that have been exposed to toxic mold and been treated > > with cholestyramine. Guest guest
I heard another MD say that mold can build a resistance to chlorine dioxide so I stopped taking it but I think it helped my immune system by killing all kinds of pathogens. It's a remarkable product and there are discussion groups on this product but not a lot of history as it just came out in the US in October 07. You activate the MMS with lime or lemon juice wait three minutes and drink it with a juice. Vitamin C neutralizes it so fortified orange juice is not a good choice unless you get sick then it will help. Go to www.miraclemineral.org. It has two books you can download the second one is $9.95 but it tells you how to make it. Global Light Network is selling it for about $25 a bottle which will last an average family about two years. I would definitely do research on this product before taking it so that you have a good understanding of what it is going to do for you. It's a different product but one I think will become something everyone will have in their medicine cabinets. I am not taking Wild Oil of Oregano and if I feel like I am getting something I will again take MMS. Now if I can just heal my adrenal glands I'll be almost like new. Guest guest
To all: If one has an infectious or colonization state going on, then it is doubtful that cholestyramine will be effective. If, as Sharon pointed out, one does not get treated with antifungals the mycotoxins will be continued to be released. This has been demonstrated in Aspergillosis. Patients with this illness have gliotoxin in their sera and fluid from the lungs. The four species that have been isolated from such patients are: A. fumigtus, A. versicolor, A. flavus and A. niger. Slightly over 90 % of the A. fumigatus isoltes produce gliotoxin. The remaining three produce gliotoxin in a descending manner with niter being about 40 % of the isolates. Jack D. Guest guest
If one has an infectious or colonization state going on, Dr. Thrasher, Do you have any thoughts about hyperbaric oxygen treatments to help with the infectious/colonization states? Can it help with mycotoxins effects in the body? Thank you.
Guest guest
How does one find out if they have colonization? Is it always in the lungs, or can it have gotten in from skin wounds or other means? Thanks > > To all: If one has an infectious or colonization state going on, then it is doubtful that cholestyramine will be effective. Guest guest
cholestyramine did not help me at all. i detoxed using an *alternative medicine* modality called Ozone Therapy using a steam sauna. i have 2 symptoms left (hoping that the bald areas of my scalp will regrow and my fingernails will look normal again). i'll gladly take those 2 symptoms over the 20+ symptoms i once had. i've declared myself recovered since June 2007, and even i can't say my health is now like it was pre-mold exposure...and truthfully, I have a sneaking suspicion that my previous toxicity has decreased my original lifespan anywhere from 5-10 years. :-( > > Hello, to those that have been exposed to toxic mold and been treated > with cholestyramine. Guest guest
i'm not sure what u're asking me. if u're asking how i came to find out about Ozone Therapy, i honestly do not remember. i was exposed to mold in Jan 2001 and started doing my own extensive research to figure out what would help me in early 2002 after going to doctor after doctor (majority of whom were affiliated with the #6 Best Hospital in the U.S. at the time) and later saw Dr Shoemaker in 2004 (who gave me the *option* of taking Cholestyramine, which i took faithfully for months). i have tried countless supplements & modalities over the years, including coffee enemas, RIFE machine, acupuncture, BioSET allergy elimination techniques, chinese medicine, suppositories from Germany, homeopathic formulas from Germany, etc etc. i've been a member here on this forum since 2004 and posted all the things i had tried or was currently trying at the time. without a doubt, the 3 things (which can be done at home) that i highly suggest to anyone who is chronically ill & /or has been exposed to a biotoxin are: 1) Using a steam sauna connected to a medical-grade ozone generator (which is connected to an oxygen tank); Ozone Therapy combined with hyperthermia (steam sauna) is a powerful modality and you will see all the stored toxins being eradicated from your body; normal protocol is 30 minutes daily, but even that may be too much once the rashes and/or oozing begins....so if need be, drop down to a couple of minutes or skip a day or two between sauna sessions (but work your way up to 30 minutes at least 5 days a week, which may take a couple of weeks or months) 2) Using an ear adapter or modified stethoscope connected to the medical-grade ozone generator; this addresses the toxins in the head cavity (i've suffered from brain fog, memory loss, eye infections, hives, mild-grade fevers, allergies, visual light sensitivity--i no longer have any of these symptoms); normal protocol is 5 minutes daily, but once your head cavity starts draining fluid out your ears, do what is tolerable, which could very well be 30 seconds at a time 3) Doing liver flushes/cleanses - this will detox the liver to make your it work more efficiently and help minimize the Herxheimer effects from doing the Ozone Therapy protocols my steam sauna + medical-grade ozone generator setup resembles this: http://www.ozonelab.com/setups/steamsauna/index.htm (my medical-grade ozone generator looks similar to the OL100 unit) i am not affiliated with any of the equipment vendors (above 3 modalities) except being a satisfied customer. if you would like to speak with an Ozone Therapy practitioner in Texas that I've spoken with maybe a year ago (i was calling on behalf of someone whose relative had kidney cancer), shoot me an email. i'm sure he would be more than happy to share his success stories with you. P.S. i went from having 20+ symptoms to 2 " cosmetic " symptoms (i.e. regrowth of bald patches & fingernails to be strong/normal again). these are all the symptoms i no longer have: - headaches lasting for extended periods of time - runny nose - fatigue - it got to be so bad that you couldn't pay me a billion dollars to stay awake for more than 4 hours at a time - low-grade fevers – this lasted 3+ years - occasional respiratory distress - weight gain of maybe 5-7 pounds - waking up in the middle of the night to a burning sensation in both eyes - eye infections - forgetfulness/memory loss - difficulty concentrating/focusing/thinking - a red splotch on my left temple - " hives " on face - itchy ears - green rashes on abdomen & thighs - toenail fungus on big toes - the fungus part is growing out!!! - itchy scalp, which progressed to hair loss - allergy-type symptoms year-round - sensitivity to smells, particularly cheap cologne & perfume - loss of muscle mass - occasional joint pain - sporadic sharp stabbing pain in my chest - visual sensitivity to light - painful showers from the water hitting my skin - sneezing fits - itchy & puffy face cholestyramine did not help me at all. i detoxed using an > *alternative medicine* modality called Ozone Therapy using a steam sauna. > > i have 2 symptoms left (hoping that the bald areas of my scalp will > regrow and my fingernails will look normal again). i'll gladly take > those 2 symptoms over the 20+ symptoms i once had. i've declared > myself recovered since June 2007, and even i can't say my health is > now like it was pre-mold exposure...and truthfully, I have a sneaking > suspicion that my previous toxicity has decreased my original lifespan > anywhere from 5-10 years. :-( > >
Guest guest
I had a medical procedure and they put a metal marker in my breast made partially from nickel which I am highly allergic to. According to my doctor it was from unsanitary conditions at the time of the biopsy. It began the day I had the biopsy and was there without treatment for five years. Everytime I would have a mamogram I would get sick or if I exercised. It progressively got worse. I believe this could happen to anyone who has surgery. I believe my immune system became compromised from the nickel. Guest guest
I've tried quite a few different liver flushes/cleanses, but the best one by far is the protocol from www.sensiblehealth.com . It involves taking Chinese Bitters. Store is in Canada & when I order, I usually buy more than 2 at a time to save money on shipping. When you call to order, ask to speak with (she's very knowledgeable)...she may ask you questions like if it's your first time doing a liver flush, your age, etc. recommends drinking 2 cups of warm water when you first wake up in the morning to clear out your intestine's contents, wait 'til you urinate the warm water you drank (about 45 minutes-1 hr later), then take the Chinese Bitters (start with a teaspoon and work your way up to a tablespoon, which will take a few months) on an empty stomach. Then you can eat breakfast 30 minutes later. When I first did this specific protocol some years ago, I think I waited about 6 weeks of taking Chinese Bitters before I actually did the liver flush/cleanse, which is a 2-day process. The protocol is on http://www.sensiblehealth.com/Journey-03.xhtml . It's best to wait a 4-6 weeks while taking Chinese Bitters daily to prep your liver for an optimal flush/cleanse. You can either drink Apple Juice or take Malic Acid capsules, I opt for the capsules: Day 1 - whichever hour you start, every 2 hrs thereafter for the next 12 hrs, take three 600mg capsules of Malic Acid capsules (I bought mine from VitaminShoppe). So basically, you'll be taking 7 doses (for example: 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm). Day 2 - same as Day 1 but think about what time you'll be going to bed because after drinking the lemon juice + olive oil concoction, you'll be heading straight to bed so you'll want to adjust your start time accordingly; about an hour before your last dose (using Day 1's times as an example, at around 7pm), mix 1 tablespoon Epsom Salt to 1 cup warm water (it's easier to dissolve with the warm water) & drink. An hour later (8pm), take your last dose of Malic Acid capsules. 10-15 minutes later, start squeezing the lemons to have 1/2 cup. At 8:30pm, drink 1/2 cup lemon juice + 1/2 cup olive oil. Immediately go to bed and lie on your right side with your knees pulled up to your chest for at least 30-45 minutes. You may even feel the concoction working its magic. If you feel really nauseous, a stone may be stuck in your bilary tubes or the stone is big. I experienced a stone being stuck once, and used my left hand to massage the area where it hurt. It was fine after 30 minutes. I don't change my diet during the 2-day liver flush/cleanse. Ideally, I should be fasting or whatnot, but I don't do anything out of the ordinary except take those Malic Acid capsules. After your first liver flush/cleanse, do every few weeks for 2-4 months. Choosing good olive oil: - The brand I really like is Bariani. I purchase it from Whole Foods, but not all Whole Foods will have it. This is how you go about choosing a substitute: - olive oil should be extra virgin, cold-pressed, unfiltered - should be in dark-colored glass bottle - oil should be cloudy, not completely clear (like 98% of the ones i've come across even at Whole Foods!); the main thing is if you cannot find the Bariani brand, hold up each bottle to the store's lights to see if it is cloudy...I don't recall the other " substitute " brand I've used in the past when I was living in another state...but I do remember it was THE ONLY in Whole Foods that was cloudy and it was in a dark-green bottle. In talking with a friend of mine some months ago, she had mentioned that the Purchasing Manager at her local Whole Foods store likes knowing what customers like, so you may be able request Bariani Olive Oil that way. Without having to go dig up the notes on my liver flushes, my skin complexion improved, my libido came back, my eyesight improved, etc etc. During my appointment with Dr Shoemaker in 2004, I tested negative on the Visual Contrast Sensitivity, both online (i brought the print-out to my appt) and in his office. He was clearly stumped, but I did offer my explanation of testing negative was maybe due to having done liver flushes...and he did write down the website. :-) > > <SNIP> > > 3) Doing liver flushes/cleanses - this will detox > > the liver to make > > your it work more efficiently and help minimize the > > Herxheimer effects > > from doing the Ozone Therapy protocols
Guest guest
The residence (apartment) where I was exposed to mold was new, as in less than 1 year old. I had gotten sick (thinking it was the flu 'cause it was wintertime) in Jan 2001 and progressively got worse. I found a long streak of black mold in the master bedroom windowsill in Mar/Apr 2001. Who knows how long it had been there. Also, an adjacent wall where the computer was set-up had what I call " water spots " on it. I do not know what kind of mold they were. Moved out of that apartment to a brand spankin' new apartment in late-2001. For about 2 months before my appt with Dr Shoemaker in 2004, I was doing fairly well in terms of functioning. I was nowhere as fatigued as previous years and had energy to actual do stuff (errands & chores) but once a hailstorm occurred, a few days later, I was a mess again. I'm guessing some moisture must have gotten in the walls or SOMETHING. I realized sometime in 2004 it's not suitable for me to live in that kind of climate (North Carolina). You're right about other awful things we're continuously being exposed to, e.g. the air we breath, the pesticides in our food, goodness knows what's really in our water. Obviously, there's no escaping it unless you want to live in a bubble, LOL. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > , > > I'm just curious. Guest guest
a long streak of black mold was on the windowsill. i didn't have it tested so i can't say what type of mold it was. i later found out that the developers had gone past their deadline in putting up the apt units/bldgs, so i'm sure corners were cut in constructing sound buildings. on my bottle here, the 2 main ingredients of the Chinese Bitters tincture are Chinese Gentian & Bupleurum--both address the liver/gall bladder. even before i made my first purchase of Chinese Bitters, i did my research and everything about those 2 ingredients sounded like they were supposed to deal with the liver, the one organ that i knew needed dire help 'cause of how screwed up i was. " bitter melon " is something entirely different. if i'm not mistaken, it's a green vegetable, bitter-tasting, and supposedly helps if you have diabetes. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > Was this black stuff ON the windowsil?
