Guest guest
I feel your pain, I have a 5 yo who I have been working with since she was almost 2 and it has been so hard. We never did Miralax but we were so clueless until I found this forum and it's still not finished yet, but it's a help reading the posts here. I just want to comment on two things that jump out at me. For what it's worth you said he has model behavior everywhere but home...home is likely the place he feels safest to let out all the feelings both good and bad. Also, I was reading on that group tonight as well and so many people love the SS there and I was thinking to search here to see people's feelings. But personally, I don't love the idea of violating a child with enemas no matter what people might say about how it doesn't bother them or traumatize them. I read somewhere about how some mom said her grandma had given her enemas and she turned out just fine, but there are lots of things that were done to us as children that we don't feel are fine anymore. The one time I tried with my daughter just with a babylax was horrible. And I was told it was for the greater good and it didn't work anyway and I just ended up with a crying child who said her butt was burning and wouldn't let me near her for weeks after. I'm sure you're going to get awesome feedback and suggestions here. Zurro > > This was my posting to the encopresis_kids forum and some very kind people directed me to this forum. Guest guest
Food intolerances could be behind the constipation and the rages. often, gluten (sometimes grains in general) and milk/casein (anything with milk or milk-derived) are the main culprits, but it can be any foods and any combination of foods. > > This was my posting to the encopresis_kids forum and some very kind people directed me to this forum. Guest guest
My daugther was a peach and so easy going and then more than 1.5 years of mirilax w/ no hint of successful BMs in the toilet (makes me mad to even think about) she had lots of rages. I fully believe mirilax was the culprit of the rages. She was in the prinicipals office 2x on the first day of kindergarten and it was only a half day! I now use senna tablets daily that you can buy on the shelf at the drugstore and a daily probiotic on top of daily sits after meals. If she goes more than a day w/ no BM, I give her a suppository which is rare these days. My daughter is a joy again and although there are some minor anger issues every once in awhile they are nothing like before. She is super bright and advanced for her age by being able to do multiplication and read super hard words at age 6 among other advance skills. Her behavior is not back 100% every day but it is 90% I'd say and no where near the severity w/ the anger and agression seen while on mirilax. Guest guest
Thanks south for your post. Many parentshere have reported the same angry behavior.Just an FYI my understanding is you shouldgive the probiotic before meals if you can.YvetteSent from my iPhone My daugther was a peach and so easy going and then more than 1.5 years of mirilax w/ no hint of successful BMs in the toilet (makes me mad to even think about) she had lots of rages.
